Ma Dong-seok obliterating fools with his fists has been one of the greatest gifts to action cinema this last decade. The third in the "The Roundup" series staring Ma Dong-seok as Detective Ma Seok-do is a real blast, A dirty cop working for a Korean crime syndicate steals a shipment of a hot new club drug, "Hiper" from some yakuza, and the yakuza clan dispatches a very lethal hitman to "handle" the situation, and Detective Ma and his men work to bust up both the domestic gangsters and the Yakuza.

A fourth film in this series The Roundup: Punishment has been scheduled, featuring Detective Ma joining a cybercrime unit to bring down a large illegal online gambling operation run by a former mercenary.

for those looking for a korean law drama with a twist give Extraordinary Attorney Woo a go.
woo is autistic and becomes a lawyer with what is essentially photographic memory but only with laws.
it does have romance (its a korean drama after all) but it does mainly focus on woo and her adventures in law with some side adventures regarding other characters in between.
woo's autisum is very accurately portrayed and isnt just another officer doofy like character.
and while having only her father to raise her (the mom situation does get addressed but no spoilers for you), she's quite well adjusted dispite her situation.
a season 2 has green lit thanks to its popularity with it comming in 2025 from memory.

I did my annual watch of It's a Wonderful Life and if you've never seen it you need to rectify it. It's one of the most touching and sincere movies of all time and never fails to make me tear up. Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed are perfect in the movie and you really feel that they love each other. As a kid I always thought it was boring, but when I became an adult it's one of my favorite movies of all time

I'm watching the original Planet of the Apes series but took a break to rewatch Kill Bill for the first time since it came out and man does it hold up. It's artistic without being faggy, rare achievement

Tokyo Godfathers is actually goated. Don't be fooled by the troon or literally every other thing Satoshi Kon has ever done, it's just an excellent Christmas movie, touching and funny -- actually funny, not japanese funny -- and captures the spirit of Christmas better than most. Even the dub is decent. Glad I gave it a chance.

The Holdovers is absolutely deserving of its critical acclaim and while I’ve never thought highly of The Oscars I hope Paul Giamatti finally gets his Oscar one of the best Character Actors of all time. The guy just brings his A-Game to every film I see.

And the younger actors are really good too. Like damn it’s just nice to get a damn old school movie.

I've just finished The Outlaws and it was a treat to watch, thank you loads for the recommendation.

Eileen is excellent. That's all I'll say about it.

Don't watch Monster, it's gay. Literally. I spent 80% of the movie thinking it was just about childhood friendship but they rugpull you and violate that purity by making it a gay love story between children. At least I'm not jaded enough to see it coming, I guess.

Saltburn is a lot more interesting than it looks. I was expecting a two hour Bloc Party song and it definitely starts that way but it gets better.

Godzilla Minus One (2023) was as good as people are making it out to be. Not only was Godzilla as terrifying as ever the human drama was an actual good part of the movie.
I loved every minute of it. Best movie of the year hands down,

Absolute agreement. Also was the first movie with the courage to directly include 9/11. And of course best Spike monologue of main character yelling at himself in a mirror. Very, very underrated movie.
