I don't think Chris is actually asking for this...actually I wouldn't be surprised if this comes more from barb bitching at him, I'm sure that figure came from barb... I think it's part "random access humor" part barb bitching (probably mad Chris went to omega and wasted good money that coulda gone to the horde )

Also I think I translated the bottom part...he's plubbing along happily then he's thwacked by responsibility and it makes him sad that he has to do things and make payments so it makes him :( . God I follow Chris to much I'm learning to speak autism

Yeah, probably Chris trying to use humor to defuse his mother's crabbiness.

Chris is gonna have to do that "work" thing sooner or later or he's going to end up on the street, I really hope he understands this (I mean I know he doesn't, but I hope he does...)

Chris would last all of one day of homelessness before getting killed or ending up in jail.
I think Chris could last at least 3 years on the street.

oh i think i get it
it's his tugboat
and gasp... he has to pay for things other than burgers and lego and now he's sad
he's hoping someone will pay off his house so he can buy more legos and burgers.

If I could give more then an optimistic rating I would. Chris is unemployable by any body at this point who in their right mind would hire him.

I'm probably going to be rated Optimistic (at best), but if this was the ween plan all along? They basically give Chris more and more money until he expects the motherload (like a mortgage) and then laugh at his circumstances when the house is foreclosed and all of the Chandlers' possessions are on the front lawn to be sold. Granted, it's not a good plan and one of the "I want Chris to suffer" variety, but it would fit in with general ween modus operandis. Or am I giving them too much credit?

Too much credit. But it's still what will probably happen and it will be funny.

Greene County resident here. The cost of living is steadily rising in the area due to people wanting to move away from the city. Chris doesn't actually live in the middle of nowhere since he's such a short distance from Cville and just about right off the main highway (though I guess that's probably a matter of opinion). If the house isn't trashed beyond repair and if they cleaned up the yard the house could probably sell for around $200,000. The neighborhood isn't awful and honestly it's probably the Chandler's outside hoard that is bringing the value down of surrounding properties.

So what you are saying is that it won't be worth $200k anytime soon

If he really applied himself he could probably pull off some sort of overnight shift as a janitor or something. But in general you're right, he's fucked. He's in his mid 30's and his only job experience is a month long stint at Wendy's, which he was fired from. Never mind his criminal record and the fact that if you google him you get....well, this

His temperament is totally unsuitable for the labour market. Even if he got a job under some special vocational rehabilitation programme, he wouldn't be able to maintain it for very long.

Around here, people like Chris tend to end up doing scrap metal or mowing lawns for pocket money. They don't have the ability to consistently apply themselves to unskilled stuff and earn a decent amount of money.

Sounds about right.

I think Chris is certainly smart enough to perform tasks with some assistance, but he is wholly unwilling to do so.

Some moron might actually hire him out of pity, or believe the tax incentives from hiring speds is enough to turn hiring Chris into a productive endeavor. Said employer would quickly regret that decision, obviously.

There are people who have much bigger problems than Chris that manage to have gainful employment. I could see Chris huffing and inwardly rebelling and whining the first year or so while he was forced to adjust to a 9/5 job, but he's not intellectually nor temperamentally incapable of holding a job -- assuming you threatened him with a big enough stick.

If Chris wasn't being backed up by his tugboat, I'd agree. But his SSDI plus a 50 week/40 hour minimum wage paycheck would allow him to live in decent economic comfort. Hell, if he budgeted properly (that is, not like a skinflint but like anyone non-retarded who had to live off of 30K a year) he could probably live in modestly better material conditions than he does right now.

The thing is, though, is that if Chris was really willing to cut down on the luxuries (which would include Branchcourt and a lot of his possessions), he wouldn't need to get a job at all. He could live in some shitty 600/mo studio apartment with the bare minimum of wifi, toys, and cheap food until he was undone by some health emergency.

Nah. Chris is a pansy, doesn't do drugs, doesn't have any relational entanglements (like a gang or a sick kid), and doesn't have any profound intellectual disabilities other than autism. He's too old and unskilled to transform into a non-minimum wage worker, but if Chris didn't flat-out refuse to work (and he might; it's an option with his tugboat) he could hold an unskilled job after a brief learning curve.

LOLOLOL

Sorry, Chris, 'ol pal, chum. You have a moron as a parent who squandered everything given to her. Now she's losing her mind because she can't shop at Goodwill and Chris's sorry ass is her target because they only have each other. Of course if Chris would have saved his money he could help and pay off his future but, NOPE! Legos. And of course the numbnuts would never look for a job because he's "Internet famous".

While I almost feel sorry for Chris I stop at the fact that we know he uses his donation money for stupid shit instead of anything even mildly important. Once more I see situation where many people would be honestly trapped but the Chandlers have somehow fucked themselves. #Bobispoweringmostofthesoutheastbynow
