There are people who have much bigger problems than Chris that manage to have gainful employment. I could see Chris huffing and inwardly rebelling and whining the first year or so while he was forced to adjust to a 9/5 job, but he's not intellectually nor temperamentally incapable of holding a job -- assuming you threatened him with a big enough stick.
If Chris wasn't being backed up by his tugboat, I'd agree. But his SSDI plus a 50 week/40 hour minimum wage paycheck would allow him to live in decent economic comfort. Hell, if he budgeted properly (that is, not like a skinflint but like anyone non-retarded who had to live off of 30K a year) he could probably live in modestly better material conditions than he does right now.
Nah. Chris is a pansy, doesn't do drugs, doesn't have any relational entanglements (like a gang or a sick kid), and doesn't have any profound intellectual disabilities other than autism.
