Another Democrat has been the victim of a violent crime

Cuellar had a gun pointed at his head reportedly

Democratic Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar was carjacked at gunpoint Monday night near his residence in the Navy Yard area of Washington, D.C. just blocks from the Capitol.

An alert sent to congressional members stated three to four men held guns to his head and took his car and phone, sources told ABC News.

Cuellar's chief of staff, Jacob Hochberg, confirmed the carjacking news in a statement to ABC News late Monday night.

“As Congressman Cuellar was parking his car this evening, 3 armed assailants approached the Congressman and stole his vehicle. Luckily, he was not harmed and is working with local law enforcement. Thank you to Metro PD and Capitol Police for their swift action and for recovering the Congressman’s vehicle,” his statement read.

>Hochul’s comments come fewer than two weeks after she told CNN, “You have to ensure that we can also have controls at the borders and not welcome even more people to come who think they’re going to come for the job.”
Bitch, weren't YOU the one that GAVE them the fucking jobs in the first place!?!?
oh well. Sucks they have buyers remorse, but it's their fault

Bill Clinton complaining about the illegals in NYC. Go fuck yourself. Die very slowly.

Boo fucking Hoo. Billy boy, you sowed the seeds of this issue. Now you're reaping the rewards for it.
Old: "May you live in interesting times."
New: "May you get what you voted for."

At this point I'm starting to believe that Republics don't exist, and they're merely a form of Benevolent Oligarchy - Much like how a dictatorship can be genuinely incredible with the right leader of the right attitude. But once they're replaced with someone who has the exact same powers but not the morals or ethics, the whole thing starts to fail. A republic is just an Oligarchy that genuinely listens to its people.
Republics and Democracy only works when violence is commonplace by the voterbase, politicians have no compulsion to follow what the voters say in the US because what will happen if they do or do not do what voters want? Very often it is far more lucrative to do the total opposite. In a society that violently lashes out the politicians tend to be more willing to follow the directives of the people, after McKinley got assassinated he was replaced by the far more active Theodore Roosevelt who was endlessly working policy that benefit the common citizen. Until Americans start frequently spazzing out like they did during the George Floyd riots, Jan 6th, or 1970s with the bombings you wont see much change in society. The security apparatus of most western nations go out of their way to ensure that collective action is almost impossible for a reason, things like the Bundy Ranch stand off is exactly what they do not want to happen, not only did the Federal government get run off from stealing Bundy's assets, they lost the overwhelming advantage of making the Bundy family paupers by taking those assets, leading to the government getting fucking smoked in court. Police can only function by being the uncontested hunter and the individual the prey, the moment this dynamic is inverted any government suddenly becomes quick to parley and negotiate least they lose even more power.

I've long suspected that once the bottom falls out on the economy this time we will see a large spike in political violence on top of insane levels of criminal activity. Just within the past page or two in this thread we see someone just rolling up and carjacking a Federal congressman in D.C. and that wasn't even the first instance of this occuring. If random "youths" are able to just roll up and power over federal congressmen and their security details just imagine how easy it would be for dedicated hit squads to do so? The late 2020s and 2030s are going to be a real fucking wild ride when unemployment starts hitting 10-15% and it never comes back down, favela-ification will set in fucking hard.

tldr; Americans have forgotten to suspend the Sword of Damocles over the head of politicians for a very long time

Or maybe any government is only as good as the people who make it up and a corrupt republic is just as bad as a corrupt dictatorship.

This is an observation that has been noted before by German-born Italian Sociologist Robert Michels in the political theory of the "iron law of oligarchy" that asserts rule by an elite, or oligarchy, is inevitable as an "iron law" within any democratic organization as part of the "tactical and technical necessities" of the organization. There is also elite theory which basically posits that a small minority holds the most power no matter what regardless of democratic elections.
Lol, at least I'm not completely off the reservation then.

Not surprising, y'all spent nearly a century now absolutely terrified of the possibility of applying violence for 'the wrong reasons', and started looking to that political class for 'the right reasons' to do it. Political violence in of itself only really works when its well targeted - Everyone needs to understand and at least mostly agree that the guy who just got mobbed by his electorate fucked up on X political matter, and that as long as you aren't that bad, you're fine. Otherwise you rapidly descend into a might makes right rule of the most violent leading the show.

Its doable, but peoples violent tendencies and aggressions have been so distorted and warped by modern society such that many simply don't know how to safely handle, process and direct their violent impulses.

The Supreme Court has struck down at least 1 state's attempt to do that.
Are you thinking of my post from Yesterday? The Supreme Court didn't do shit, they just declined to hear the case, and so the district court ruling was upheld:

He filed a writ from the district court while his appeal of the dismissal was ongoing. The appeal itself is still ongoing as of September
I'm imagining all that McDonald's is for him alone and he's just scarfing down burgers like he's making a mukbang video
Don't tell Null, or he might like Trump again.

These are the people Sean Hannity say are good people just doing their jobs, always salute them and defer to their demands because they dress up in gay suits:

Remember, it doesn't have to stick. Trump can appeal it. It just has to land long enough for them to smear him in the media, waste his time / money / resources / political capital fighting it, and ideally give them an excuse to illegally remove him from the ballot.

They know they can't win fairly. Biden is an unpopular as hell illegally installed incumbent who is presiding over an intentional destruction of the US economy that no matter what American Pravda says, is being acutely felt by every single American not in a gated community. You don't win re-election in that situation outside of a black swan event.

The entire goal at this point is to hamper Trump enough that the rigging in 2024 will be believable when the media lockstep tells you that it didn't happen, don't believe your lying eyes.

Vote to oust McCarthy as House Speaker will move forward to take place today. No speaker has ever been removed from office through a motion to vacate, Democrats are currently reserved about the whole affair, Gaetz and his allies are but a political minority in the House, and McCarthy remains optimistic. There is no consensus at this time on who should be the new House Speaker should McCarthy be removed. McCarthy also doesn't want any help from Democrats to save him apparently and they haven't asked for anything regarding such a move which is intriguing.

Any attempt to get rid of the current House Speaker would need somehow a large amount of Republican support which is unlikely. If the Democratic Party wanted to gamble and take a risk they could choose to give the dissident members of the Republican Party the simple majority they need but the chance of this happening is probably pretty low.

The cynical political theater outcome here is that the vote would be put forth, get little support and anticlimactically then just be a thing that occurred.

More proof stereotypes exist for a reason...a Pentagon official orchestrated conflicts where others died and he got rich ;)

McCarthy said this in an interview less then 10 minutes ago, mentally he is either resigned or confident that Gaetz won't be able to get enough support. There is a chance he has a trick up his sleeve but we'll see.

The Republicans don't have a huge majority in the House which is what gives the Freedom Caucus their leverage. If the Democrats vote no and Gaetz has approximately 10 Republicans with him it's over for the current Speaker and the country enters uncharted territory as far as Congress goes. To be fair, if McCarthy gave any concessions to the Democrats it would probably tank any chance of re-election he has if he plans to run again at all.

Obviously any pound of flesh the Democrats get from him will be done in private. If he's a GOPe RINO they wouldn't even need to talk to him. He knows the score.

Populists must be put down whenever possible and subverted and sabotaged whenever they can't be. The FC is public enemy number two to the DC elites.

The dems might have liked to vote to remove him, but the fact is any replacement has a much higher chance of being worse for them. The real point here is the GOP and how many people might turn, vacating him could be popular with voters but we all know these people don't give a shit about the voters.

Well if one assumes all parties are being honest with their statements (there is a high chance they aren't) and don't change the course they could look to take advantage of the chaos. The Republicans have no clearly indicated successor to McCarthy which would indicate if he is voted out there would be another long series of votes to pick a new Speaker. History has also shown us in this Congress alone that there are Republicans that have great disdain for the populist faction of their party.

This is to say that if McCarthy is removed and things devolve enough to a certain extent, a contingent of Republicans could get a favorable power sharing agreement and concessions from someone desperate for a strong position.

There could always be some kind of "last minute deal" no matter what all parties say though.

McCarthy is such an idiot, all he has to do is ensure no more Ukraine votes, and fund the border. He can get away with not stripping the DOJ of funding on the Trump witch hunt if he does this. Everything he's going through is his own fault, all he had to do was honor his promises.

What this McCarthy thing hides is the revelation last week that McConnell basically lost control of the house minority leader status behind the scenes, Thune is the defacto leader (still a RINO but can read the anti-ukraine resentment better). The senate will get the blame, not the house, stop being a faggot.

Mitch hitting his head and becoming retarded was a death sentence to Rinos. They need to accept the fact that the RNC belongs to Trump and Maga now.

They never will. They would rather loose everything but have a small shitpile that they are the king of while everything else burns.

RINO's are basically black people from Operation Ratfuck.
