I was just wondering because I've been seeing that phrase get used a lot more recently. And it's funny because as an insult or slur, it's not even original. I know it has been repeated to death, but I can't think of anything in recent memory as cringey and embarrassing as NAFO. It is on the same tier as the laser eye 'dark brandon' and Hillary posters in 2016. There is no soul, no laughter to be had, all of this shit was created in labs and A/B tested on millennials by some out of touch government employees, and these people actually not only fall for it, but their ability to detect authenticity is so absent they actually view this shit as organic, and even cool to be a part of.

Things honestly would've calmed down if there weren't this much of an incentive for our local politicans to talk shit because it gets boosted by mainstream western MSM and suddenly they gain a lot of international fame. NAFO is just one of many spinoffs from the main western propaganda system which really has overwhelmed the general opinion. I found the bit about Putin destroying churches especially cringe, especially after he sperged about being a heathen pagan romano-bongistani. Reeks of "Look at me, I am a cool kid who hates Putin/Russia and loves Ukraine/NAFO, join us so we can all be cool together!"
They have a vicious streak to them as well-they target pro-Russians on Twitter and elsewhere, doxing them and bragging about trying to get them fired. Pekka Kallioniemi is a good example of this.
He runs a site called vatniksoup.com where he posts the dox of anyone who catches his fancy and directs his NAFO personal army to harass them IRL.
He wasn't so cavalier when he got doxed though.

I've been seeing this video circulating showing a journalist running up to random Russians and quizzing them on their ethnicity while recording them. Unsurprisingly, many don't wish to identify as Russian in public, especially to a clearly hostile stranger using the question "are you Russian" like an accusation. Many "Fellas" seething over the idea that some Russians outside of Russia get to exist unmolested in their daily lives.
