Unfortunately most normies don't care about cletus and jamal coming back in pineboxes, they are far more concerned with the economy. And that's the thing, the economy is doing like shit, unlike the booming 2000s, and a lot of the damage comes from the disruptions caused by this war specially in europe while the 2008 crisis had nothing to do with the war on terror and it was going to happen anyway.

That's the big difference, back then people were hating on banks and wall st. which is why OWS was several times bigger than the antiwar marches (probably why gender shit was deployed there for the first time to great results) but this time the antiwar sentiment will come mostly from people going broke and spiraling inflation, and normies care far more about that than the troops coming back with no legs, just ask the average vet panhandling outside a starbucks.

I think it doesn't cost much for the CIA to run that whole NAFO operation, they just piggyback it off their usual propaganda ops like Voice of America and Radio Free Europe. They also sell merch and may be even making money off it at the end.

The glowies just need to maintain a small core of propagandists and recruiters, there's no shortage of useful idiots who will help launder their propaganda and deliver it to the masses for free. Those useful idiots end up doing the bulk of the hard work with zero pay. Like trying to "recontextualize" certain information so it looks less embarrassing, for example.
