I fully expect china to go kinetic soon given the absolute embarrassment the US proxy war in Ukraine has been.
What was merely suspected in white papers is being demonstrated on the battlefield as disposably-cheap drones and missiles render the warfare paradigm that won the first Gulf War obsolete.
Given the active efforts to bribe Taiwan into the fold, and the strong economic interest the chinese have in their silicon infrastructure, I don't foresee a direct attack on Taiwan, but I do expect strikes on US or allied vessels or bases soon.

The problem is those cheap assed drones are a devastating defensive weapon. They are the kiss of death for an old school invading force. Which still needs to put boots on the ground. The drones changing the paradigm works more in Taiwan's favor.

Are the notoriously risk-averse (to put it nicely) Americans actually going to get involved in Taiwan if anything pops off? Before an election year? I highly doubt it.
