Nothing else would really stop a move for so many months, unless she's particularly caught up on a covenant she doesn't want to agree to, or maybe there's a dispute over leaving the fixtures and fittings but those are easily resolved and she presumably has the money to just say "take them, I'll replace them" or whatever... so I don't really know what the paperwork issue could be...

Again going from memory, her original story was that she's still going to be renting. Specifically she's claimed she's downsizing to a "pokey 1 bedroom flat" where she'd be sleeping on the sofa so the kid can have a bedroom (even though there's been basically zero proof the kid actually lives with her and not the dad). It's one of the many reasons I've been calling BS on it, there's zero chance a landlord is leaving a flat empty for 6+ months over a "minor contract dispute" when there's likely people lining up who'd take their hand off for a cheap property.

Very manipulative, as usual. 'being present and really receiving all your goodness' is a particularly bizarre-sounding piece of psychobabble. Whatever that is exactly, stroking the fragile ego of the person speaking is not what people attend a talk for.
I didn't know this, but apparently Greenbelt were concerned/bothered enough to release a statement about their decision to book her - a search of this thread doesn't turn up any mention of it, so here it is (possibly) again: link, and archive - you need to click to expand the heading.

I don't know that Greenbelt would have bothered with a public statement in response to pressure from this one twitter user (although I also have no idea who this person is), which is interesting - someone at the organisation must have been concerned enough (or received a large enough number of enquiries) about her image to knock it up. The statement also seems to suggest that the Guardian article from January may have been a bigger PR nightmare for her than she lets on.

Compared to what? How on earth would changing the ingredients used in a chilli (assuming they mean the savings were calculated with reference to a different recipe for a similar dish) save you £77? Likewise, if the recipe itself is just window dressing and the 'savings' are calculated based on the device used to cook (so the comparison is against a standard oven) some of the figures (£77, £38) still seem off.

Reading the full article it seems like they're claiming it's primarily based on the appliances being cheaper to run (although not saying compared to what), but also mention saving food waste (how the fuck this avoids food waste any more than literally any other method of cooking the same thing I'm not sure about).

The only thing Jack's recipes are an indication of is that she still doesn't know what actual poor people are like or what they eat.

Also one thing no-one at Curry's the mongs who okay-ed this, the mongs at the rag who wrote about this, or Jack herself, appears to have asked is how the fuck are people supposed to buy the appliances in the first place? I mean if you're so desperate for money you're trying to save on your cooking bill of all things odds are you don't have a bunch of cash on hand to splash on a new cooking appliance. Decided to have a quick look at the prices of the appliances they mention in the article:
