If you let her stay in the machine, it will explode and she get's -2 to three different stats. Do you know if that ever goes away or is it permanent? I just did that part and I'm wondering if I should reload and keep her out of that bug machine, if it's a permanent loss. I'm not too far after that, I don't mind fighting the inquisitor again.

Permanent are restored by restoration. 4th circle of cleric magic. Or 5th.

I would argue that there's no 60 dollar game more worth 60 dollars on release then this one in recent memory. It's a long competent game, the only bug I've encountered that wasn't fixed by a quick reload is a small memory leak that rears it's head after several hours and it has no day 1 DLC or battle pass nonsense. Voting with your wallet is retarded, but this is the sort of game to vote for if you are so inclined.

I haven't actually tried to go back to act I areas but you can do Mountain Pass even after the "don't go to act 2 you'll fuck up everything" screen. I did it after entering the tower but before entering Shar's temple IIRC.

so when should i backtrack to the mountain pass before i enter moon tower? i just killed Nere.

you'll lose access of Act I areas and Mountain Pass/Underdark once you enter the Shadowfell Entrance at the Dark Justiciar temple, which opens up the rest of Moonrise Towers and sets up the finale of Act II (you'll get a point of no return popup when you try to enter Shadowfell), Moonrise Towers and the rest of Act II are safe to explore until then, the start of Act II is when you take the elevator in Grymforge or enter the Shadow Cursed Lands through a cave in Mountain Pass.

I'm really getting triggered by how much dickriding this game is getting from retards who just swipe the card on the Big New Thing every time some game release is overhyped in the media. there is now a raging debate (read: a bunch of retards screaming at each other online) about the quality of releases in the AAA space, and the prevalence of exploitative monetization, and so on. this is being met by a fair amount of industry pushback, devs assuring people that what Larian did with BG3 cannot be replicated, because [insert random factoid about BG3's development] doesn't apply to other studios, so your Dragon Ages et. al. will continue to suck and you'll continue to cough up $70+ for it like the paypigs you are. nobody fucking gets it. if you just go to the Steam store front page and click around a bit, it's designed to try and show you all kinds of different games based on what you play. do people really see shit like Pathfinder or Solasta or Pillars of Eternity or Wasteland or Shadowrun and just click through because they haven't read a fucking Polygon article about it? Pretty much this.
BG3 is not even that different from DOS2.
While I've been enjoying BG3 more, due to some improvements in encounter design and a better story, the cutscenes and close-up dialogs are basically the only major changes between these titles, and yet people are acting as if BG3 is a second coming of Witcher 3.
This is not even an Elden Ring situation, where there was an obvious reason for the huge influx of normalfags (the open world), BG3 does not have a more casual friendly design over Larian's previous games.
I guess they just decided to play this game because of all the marketing/astroturfing/bear-sex-memes.

Yeah, I think the Wizard has access to more spells but the Blackguard path is another option. I wish the game had Pale Master specialization. Clerics with Death Domain, even.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the mod community. This game could be exceptional if the mod community is given free reign. I am looking forward to the shitstorm of drama that lies dormant and untapped in the mod community though. Someone posted a screenshot on Reeeeeeedit of a "child race" mod on Nexusmods. Watching what mods are allowed to remain up and what mods get banned will be entertaining enough. I want to finish a vanilla playthrough before modding the game myself. That modify stats potion sure sounds enticing.

I'm really enjoying the game, just started Act 2 but does anybody here still recommend the first 2 games? Like, have they aged well? I'm the type of person who tried Fallout 1 and gave up after 20 minutes because I didn't feel like figuring out how to actually play the game so is it a lot simpler than that? lol
