I get that people are mad at some changes, but seriously if you're that pissed off about it just buy the original PPG series on DVD or something and marathon it. Obviously the network doesn't want to have the reboot to have a 90's feel to it; they know modern day internet/SJW culture will rack in suckers to watch it so that's what they're doing. I tried last year to say that "wow Teen Titans Go is fucking shit don't watch it" but it hit me very quickly that maybe the new show wasn't INTENDED for me. I don't watch any new Cartoon Network show anymore because I've grown out of it; the only times I have an interest is when shows from the past that I like (PPG, Samurai Jack, Teen Titans) are rebooted. Of course that's familiar territory, ergo I will see what kind of material they will produce. The video in the OP was horrible, so now I know that the show will not be for me and I'll wait for the SJ reboot. It's a lot better than saying "Jesus this show is fucking stoopid" for months on end.

I love cartoons, old ones, new ones, any, as long as they are good. I try to find the good in cartoons, and only tend to ignore them if there's no redeeming qualities to them. Hell, I even love the Super Mario Bros. Super Show just because of the cheese factor, but my favorites are probably old Looney Tunes cartoons or the classic Micky Mouse cartoons.

Anyways, in terms of modern Cartoon Network, I think that Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time, Regular Show and Clarence are great, Teen Titans Go is an okay little flash cartoon that's meant for younger kids, and Steven Universe has nice style and animation but it is sometime too serious for its own good. And that's not counting the cartoons on the Toonami or Adult Swim blocks, which I like the overwhelming majority of. However, I can't find one thing to like about the new PPG. It is grating, cheaply animated and forces old memes into the show. And I wasn't the biggest fan of the original, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing or anything, so my criticism of the reboot has nothing to do with nostalgia.

Honestly, the PPG reboot is just as bad on its own merits as it is compared to either its stablemates or the original series. It's animation makes the most basic of fuck ups, the characters feel like they're dumbed down for the young audience (Heck, as much as I don't like the show, even MLP has better characterizations), and the action looks lame.

Not to say anything about the Tumblr-inspired humor; or the medeocre voice acting from both the new voice actors, and the returning ones. Add to that the staff being compete and total dicks to their critics, and it makes me wonder why CN didn't do any back-checking when it came to the people responsible.

Honestly the lack of line variation reminds me of Golden Knight and how he'd draw his pseudo-PPG comics in Illustrator.

I wonder how they'll handle Femme Fatale
latest

I'd imagine they'll just forget she existed, it would cause a huge shitstorm but it would be interesting to see.
I'd "love" to see the shitstorm resulting from Bunny too.

I grew up with this show and I should watch some of the new series before I can form my opinion on it, however, I don't hold out much hope for it. I wonder what show will be rebooted next...

I just finished the first four episodes, so far it's boring and predictable, not necessarily in a bad way either, just "meh". There are a few points that I'd like to bring up

(This is under the mindset that CN is still primarily targeted towards children, despite all the sjw pandering they've been doing lately)

The animation in the opening was okay, it felt a bit more genuine (interesting too) than the animation for the rest of the show.

The show doesn't really mention who any of the characters are or where they come from, they just appear and the viewer is expected to know who said character is. I wouldn't have a problem with this but as it's a cartoon meant for young children I feel as though just plopping random characters into an episode with little to no context is an awful idea for generating interest in said character. I get that CN is also marketing towards the demographic that watched the original show as children, which is fine and all but ideologies sjw-ism change all the time and if CN can't get it's younger viewers to connect to these characters then this show has no future if/when they accidentally piss off older viewers for doing something minor.

It's already dated, not just with meme's, and it's not just CN that's doing this either, it's Nickelodeon too. I've noticed this in the new Fairly OddParents (yes, I watched a few episodes of that a while back, it too was meh), both companies have overused the cellphone's (good god the first new fop episode, they mentioned selfies and duck faces so many goddamn times) I don't know if they're trying to compete for the most pop culture or what. Thing is though, do kids really even see those old meme's as a joke? will they even find it funny? If it's just a few pop culture references it would be fine, but if that's the majority of the jokes then there's a problem. There was twerking in the 4th episode of ppg and you have to wonder, do the people behind these shows know shit like this isn't taken seriously?

Imagine if they rebooted Cow and Chicken like this.
The flaring nostrils would be the first to go (such a David Feiss trademark).

Those pants are way, way too high up. It's at Dick Contino levels.
Really. I'm expecting him to belt out Rock Candy Baby right now.

I've seen chafing before, but that's ridiculous.

Also, he's not rocking the vest/granny sweater look at all.
Such a sissy outfit here.

It looks like he's wearing a life preserver.
That makes it even stupider, I think.

Then again, this art style they're using is utter trash in comparison to the original, so why would I expect someone who actually looked like a legit threat back then to look like one now? I mean he looks more like a low-rent Jyce, but without the charm.
