im kinda shocked they didn't get Tara Strong back for Bubles shes doing teen Titans go it would be that hard for her to do both

I doubt Tara Strong works for cheap. She's probably one of the best paid VAs, at least of those who only do voice work and aren't on The Simpsons.

I guess they're lame and stupid, then, because Kenny really isn't iconically associated with the show (as compared to SpongeBob). I'd completely forgotten that. I'd be more likely to think of Mr. Show as something he did.

Kind of powerleveling, but I actually did meet Tom Kenny at my local comic con, and I mentioned his work on Mr. Show and Bobcat Goldthwait's Shakes the Clown - he said out of everybody he'd met at the con, I was one of two guys who knew he did that.

They wanted to get new VAs for the Powerpuff Girl to give the show a more modern feel, apparently.
 
I was never into PPG myself - only episode I ever watched was when a firend made me watch one because it had a reference to Legend of Zelda and thefore I was supposed to love it, but whatever. Wasn't my cup of tea - but if you liked it, props to you fam.

Now, I also used to be big into anime (I've greatly cooled to it in recent years), but I remember years ago, some amazing dimwits decided to make a Powerpuff Girls anime and people HATED it.


And despite this - CW has managed to somehow underperform a fucking hated anime adaptation. That takes some serious effort to accomplish.
 
Fuck. That vid in the OP was painful.

Like, part of me was hoping that this would be decent. Like, I kinda like how they just added tiny changes to the main three. (Little hair beads for Bubbles and a tuft of hair on Buttercup) and didn't go overboard with them.

But seeing that these people are pandering to the Internet crowd bugs me. That's certainly not going to date the show or anything.

And Tara Strong didn't reprise her role as Bubbles? Huh?

There exists a video where the animator draws buttercup and behind her there's a picture by Chris Simpsons Artist, so you can tell where the shows hideous facial expressions are inspired by.

I'm amazed they even got him and the other male actors back. I thought they'd outright replace them all.

But I guess removing the original actors for the girls was insult enough.
 
I haven't watched it and I sure as hell don't plan to. I've had low expectations since I saw the first preview. The art style looks too much like Clarence, which I find rather ugly, and there is no line width, making it look rather flat and lifeless compared to the original.

No use for me to sperg about it, I guess. I have better things to do.

I'll still never forgive them for getting rid of Ms. Bellum, though.

That actually makes it even worse, like it was a specific insult toward them.

It's like they were going out of their way to piss away any residual goodwill that could have existed.

Then they perpetrated the laziest attempts at pandering since Hayden Black and just managed to offend the people they were pandering to.

Yeah, I'm more than certain that even Black wasn't this shit when it came to pandering. And he was terrible at it.

I'm legit surprised by that.

Apparently one of the higher up in the show implied in an interview that they think that this version is superior to the original because it can be much more "character driven" than the original, which didn't flesh out the characters enough.
