🤝 Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

With Crouzon, it's not exactly detectable in the same vein as missing an piece of an chromosome. But apparently, it's easily treatable with medical intervention; and if you don't go through with, you're basically an monster.

Apert Syndrome is listed as an hereditary, spontaneous genetic mutation. As far as treatment goes; it's possible, but you can't really fix what's wrong with their hands.

With Pfeiffer syndrome, there's an chance that your kid won't be living an complete life. It actually happened to Prince's son.
IVe seen a lot of shit but this pfeiffer shit legit shook me.

Sophia wasn't a tard baby either. She had Rett Syndrome and a host of other problems (the facial stuff wasn't Rett Syndrome and I don't know if there's even a name for it). Her parents at least had the decency to ask her what she wanted and it was to never go back to the hospital again.

I stand corrected. That's what I get for doing an image search and not reading anything after that.

Regardless terminating pregnancies that aren't compatible with life shouldn't cost 10k+ and require traveling out of state. It's all just pointless cruelty for the sake of pointless cruelty since a living, healthy kid isn't going to be in the cards no matter what.

At least that Texas woman was able to afford going out of state to abort her brainless fetus. I wonder how many prolifers in Texas are like the grandparents and didn't realize the state ban makes no exceptions for fetuses that aren't compatible w/life?
Anti-abortion people who think they're the ones who deserve an exception make me mad. If you think this is murdering a baby, why is it okay for you to do it?

Didn't she have some moderate intellectual disabilities? But otherwise definitely not a potato.

It seems like most kids with serious conditions when given the choice, would rather not go to the hospital/etc. It's another thing that emphasizes the importance of pediatric hospice services/care, as sad a subject as it may be. No point in extending a kid's life if they have zero quality of life.

I wonder if her parents will ever allow for genome sequencing or w/e of her DNA, so the mystery of what other conditions she had might be put to rest.

There was another child born with it who did not have rett syndrome, but I dont think they named the disorder itself. It was on an episode of Body Bizarre.

Rett syndrome is considered by NORD to be "second most common cause of severe intellectual disability after Down syndrome." with the caveat that its hard to get concrete data since people with rett syndrome lose the ability to speak and have purposeful hand movements.

I have always questioned whether Rett syndrome was an accurate diagnosis or just something that Natalie Weaver claimed.

The pop musician Prince had a son named Amiir, who had Pfeiffer syndrome that was not diagnosed until after his birth. He died of respiratory insufficiency at 6 days old in 1996. By all accounts, Prince was never the same afterward, even going so far as to burn the contents of the baby's nursery at Paisley Park. He rarely, if ever, spoke about Amiir to anyone, and the baby's death likely played a role in his addiction issues.

Actually, Amiir Nelson would have been 26 years old yesterday.

OK tard farmers here's a moral medical conundrum for you all. A sort of reverse tard-baby.
Wheelchair rapunzel. An insta famous young woman with Spinal muscular atrophy. She is 100% reliant on carers (her parents) for all her daily needs and she's pregnant. OK. She's pregnant with her supportive husband after years of genetic counselling?

Nope. She's pregnant by her new boyfriend. Less than a year out of opioid addiction he has raging borderline PD. She cant/hasn't seen a medical professional about this because seemingly her insurance has no provision for such an eventuality, and just assumes she will be fine to carry to term. She thinks she's about 14 weeks based on LMP.

Assuming the baby survives, who exactly is going to raise it? I hold no hope for addict BPD boyfriend to stick around.
Grandparents I assume. And assuming grandparents, baby, and mom all survive- imagine at what age the kid is going to immediately also start having to take care of mom.

I wonder if she was previously told "absolutely do not have a child" and so is avoiding doctors because her situation is so shitty they will recommend abortion (because of a risk against her life and/or the child) or get CPS involved because again, "who is taking care of this kid exactly?" Or hell, you never know- it could even be some situation like this boyfriend being on a list. Not that the crippled can't have loving relationships, but when someone physically could never resist at all, I would ask a LOT of questions to make sure they weren't being taken advantage of.

I feel like there's a really high chance she'll miscarry, but if dwarves can have natural children, so can she, probably.

It sounds like the issue is less her disability and more her choice of partners and refusing prenatal care. Even a non-disabled person refusing prenatal care can end in disaster, just look at Globyn.

I'm strongly in camp "will miscarry" and failing that "will deliver prematurely due to pressure on already frail body and funky anatomy".

Should fetus and mother survive I guess parents will be raising it as the boyfriend is obviously going to be useless and split.

Who knows if the pregnancy is really real. If the boyfriend was a devoted husband it would still be iffy because he would be untested until the reality of caring for wife and baby actually bit.
She needs 24 hour care. Personality wise she seems not very bright and obviously not very mature.

Yeah, I have no issue with physically disabled women choosing to have a biological child, provided there are supports or modifications in place for any childcare tasks she might have difficulty doing on her own. We are all one bad day away from needing assistance with activities of daily living, and as long as someone can consent, I don't give a shit what they do with their junk.

SMA used to be one of those conditions that meant a person wouldn't need to worry about reproducing, to put it mildly, but that has changed with the advent of Spinraza/Evrysdi and Zolgensma. I actually think we'll start seeing a lot more of this as type I patients live to reproductive age.

However, this has "trainwreck" written all over it and I feel really bad for her, the kid, and her parents, who have to be absolutely beside themselves. To me, the tragedy here isn't that a wheelchair user got knocked up, it's that a young twentysomething who appears to be pretty goddamn sheltered is going to be tied to a flagrantly Cluster B shitshow for the rest of her life.

I can't even fault her parents for sheltering her, because even ten years ago, she wouldn't have been expected to live to adulthood. In a perfect world, everyone would talk to their kids about consent and how having a child with a person means that the two of you are connected forever, regardless of what happens in your relationship. I don't really blame them for not doing a good job of it, because I can only imagine how delicate it is to try to explain to your child that she's going to have to be doubly careful because 95% of men who will want to fuck her are going to be absolutely awful people.

I have a friend with SMA and I wonder if she's heard about this.

There's no doubt in my mind this dude is the fucking worst in some way and is seeking to exploit her fame and naievety. She's a blue tick so presumably makes some money off this and seems like her parents have the means to give her a pretty nice life. He's got a good thing going here tying himself to this gravy train of money and narc supply and god knows what else he gets out of this emotionally immature and physically immobile young woman.

The idea of a already disabled and medically fragile person refusing prenatal care is… scary. Non-disabled is scary. Disabled and refusing is a different sort of scary. So much can go wrong. I hope her parents can talk sense into her but.. slim. The baby having issues during birth or in pregnancy is one thing. Yet herself? Is another. She would have to be a c section most likely? Correct me if I am wrong.

Don’t get me started on baby daddy. It’s obvious he sees dollars and a weak person to use in her

He's 6 months sober and looks a little exceptional. She's incapable of taking care of a single aspect of her own or the baby's care but is obsessed with posting herself naked on insta. These guys are totally ready to be parents.

I'm sure it's going to be fine. Maybe make a thread in PG just in case it isn't.

She's like the polar opposite of that woman who got bullied on insta because she thought people should not have disabled babies, even though she had severe MD and a right, in my view to have an opinion on the issue. I can't remember now if she had an opinion on disabled women specifically having babies but I think she'd be very against it if there was a chance of genetic transmission.
I hope the pregnant girl can get all the specialized prenatal care coverage that she'll need. Pretty crazy that people with SMA can even get pregnant nowadays. It's not going to be fun to have a parent with such a severe physical disability. And it's degenerative, so good luck counting on your parent being there for you for a long time. Being an unpaid caregiver for parents or siblings is traumatizing for youth.
I have to say the MD girl writes so much more intelligently than the SMA girl. I think she's above average intelligence. I don't think SMA girl is retarded or anything but it's very possible she has some kind of learning disability that doesn't affect her global intellectual development. Or it may come down to being sheltered as others have said. You can't even blame the parents when they were surely told she was screwed at birth.
