I'm still unconvinced Polissa went to the ER over the weekend for pain that turned out to be an ovarian cyst, but if she did, and if she pulls shit like this on a regular basis, I can see that playing a role in determining what kind of pain management she gets.
I think that is what made her saying that she was "forced" to do this hysterectomy because of the Roe overturn/Alabama abortion law give me such a bad taste in my mouth. Besides that her free uterus yanking was covered by the state and it was voluntary, but
she had to be higher priority to advocates than 10 year old rape victims. This hysterectomy is a whole lot of nothing at the end of the day for her. It's just a formality to the end of her fertility, or what little she had left. Give it a couple of years and that little would've been gone anyway. It's not like her appendix burst or her fetus died and was rotting inside her. There was no rush for this hysterectomy as much she likes to claim it was. The only reason this hysterectomy is even a big deal to us is because Polissa made it so.

Considering how Polissa takes doctor's appointment selfies, takes pictures of brochures she receives, etc, I don't believe that she visited the hospital for that sole reason. She would've milked that "painful" IV drip by taking a picture of the picc inserted into her hand or wherever the nurse had to find a vein. Instead we just got "I only have 20 cents, can someone buy me
weed medicine?"
It'd be funny if she got her wish, was transferred to Surgical, and some new parents hit the lullaby bell on the old floor.

The local hospital is huge and has segregated women's health into its own building, ER into its own building across from the street from that building, etc. I would've absolutely taken it over the constant Code Blues I heard when I had to go to the ER during the height of Covid.

made me get this hysterectomy!" I can absolutely see her twisting this into her being a victim of eugenics. "Alabama hates poor disabled women like me, I was forced to get this surgery so I wouldn't get pregnant and make more

But I remember the uterus coloring books, purple kimonos, excited appointment selfies, etc. If it was true eugenics, she would've been sterilized while she was under the knife for something else or it would've been done at a time where she wouldn't be able to schedule it and ask for what she did.
I remember watching a true crime case about a retarded woman that had twin boys and sat on one of them because she wanted the crying baby to shut up. She was sexually vulnerable and had a tendency to fuck boys and men that preyed on her because she genuinely felt that they loved her. Her grandmother/caretaker tried to get her sterilized as a teen, but was legally unable to do it because it was considered unethical. The retarded woman was on some sort of BC for a few years but when she married a fellow tard, grandma couldn't force her on BC anymore. Because if she could get married, then she was legally seen as a big girl that could make big girl decisions like getting knocked up.
I guess my point is that if you can't force a legitimate retard to get sterilized even if it's for her and society's greater good, then why would some lazy white trash fuck like Polissa be sterilized by the state? She was also 1000% on board for this until she finally got her wish and it didn't play out like the relaxing vacation she thought it would be. Polissa also has a strange take on how powerful painkillers work. When I ended up being injected with fentanyl, it made no difference to my pain levels, it just made it so that the pain was... distant. Less connected to me. The type of pain that you need a drip for doesn't go away, it just gets easier to live with when you add drugs.
That said, I have had laparoscopic surgery and it was agonisingly painful for months even when everyone told me I'd be over it in a couple of days. I do have sympathy for Polissa in principle, but she's just such an unsympathetic character that it's hard to apply it.
Since she got laparoscopic surgery, I assume that a lot of her immediate pain isn't even from the surgical sites, but rather from gas. They blow you up like a balloon to get in there. Opiates do not help with gas pain at all. The best way to get rid of that sort of pain is by expelling it. Nurses don't care if patients toot as they walk post op because farting all that gas pain out is better than holding it in. They'll even give you Gas X to help you fart it out easier. I highly doubt Polissa has walked more than what she's been forced to do (like go to the bathroom). Opiates can also cause constipation. That'll be "fun."
How many times do you think she's mashed her hooves into the call button to bother the nurses about trivial shit? As unpleasant as it is for her to be wallowing in that hospital bed, undoubtedly it's much more unpleasant for the people paid to take care of her, and all the exhausted new moms that have to deal with the beached whale two beds over begging for an opiate drip and a Jimmy Dean's breakfast bowl.

This is most of my (including family members) experience too. Toradol prescriptions happen too, but only very small nonrefillable prescriptions. It's very rare to be prescribed even that tiny amount of Norco. She has to really be milking the "I AM LITERALLY DYING" angle for the doctors to go "sigh, fuck it, give her a three pill prescription."
