I have to confess that I'm a bit taken aback by the maternity ward thing.

Our local hospital has separate Gynae wards for non maternity patients (and separate ant natal & post natal wards for that matter) and I assumed that that was normal (in the UK at least).

The lullaby thing is something else - do they play it all over the hospital in every ward and common area?
Where I'm from they play the whole hospital. But it's very soft and not harsh or anything

It's kind of like when a Code Blue is called. It goes out over a hospital-wide loudspeaker.

Congrats, Polissa. I sincerely mean that. I truly am happy that you will not be bringing a child into this world. A child needs a loving, safe and stable home with parents who will truly put them first, even if means the parents must sacrifice their Mello Yellow and Jimmy Dean breakfast
Seriously. If Porklissa’s uterus hadn’t been made into a rancid stew after marinating in Mello Yello and Jimmy Dean’s for 10+ years, I can’t imagine what kind of hell her offspring would be subjected to. At best, she’d be the kind of mom that any child would be ashamed to have—the kind that you would walk far enough behind in public so as to pretend for even a moment that you’re not related. At worst, she’d be the mom that would be featured on the news after starving and neglecting their child to death.

Parenting is really fucking hard, and all of the skills that you need to do it right (whatever the fuck that means) are ones that Polissa will never, ever possess. Can you imagine her putting the needs of another living being before her own? Look at her husband, even though he’s a worthless prick, he’s supposed to be the love of her life and she never, ever seems to go out of her way to show him any love or care beyond vapid social media posts (another obvious example is through her treatment of animals, but I cannot even bring myself to discuss that or my head would fucking explode).

She could use her time sitting on her ass all day to at least make sure that when he gets home he has a healthy, filling meal in a comfortable place to rest. Imagine coming home to a house soaked in cat piss and covered in empty hot pocket containers after you’ve worked all day. Instead it’s all about her—and it probably always has been.

If she gave even half a shit about anyone besides herself, she’d let him rest at home and focus on keeping his job, the one where he is already “so valued” (lol), the one that could help him maybe become financially stable enough to get health insurance one day and not die prematurely. Instead he’s stuck in a hospital room listening to her bitch about how sad she suddenly is that she won’t get any government gimmes—I mean, have babies!

Trust me—I think her husband is a piece of shit too. I just think it’s hilarious how she likes to pretend she’d be such a great mom after being such a horrible, evil cunt to countless helpless animals and every other human being she has even come into contact with.

But Polly! You wanted to be in the hospital for almost an entire week!

She is absolutely going to be “bedbound” for at least a week after her discharge. She grifted for wipes and the dry shampoo because muh pain. Despite, y’know, most patients being able to shower on their own the day after surgery.

Joh is 100% going to be her man slave. She will probably refuse to get up for at least a week going from what she’s claimed and given what was on her “recovery” list like compression socks (worn when you stay in bed all day to prevent blood clots). He can kiss that job goodbye.

Munchie wants the really good shit.

Most doctors in my area usually prescribe Toradol or prescription Tylenol after surgery nowadays because of how many people got addicted to Norco. If you get Norco at all it's only like three pills with no refill. The fact she got it at all means she's really milking this pain. (Maybe she is in severe pain (it is the first day after the operation), but most people suck it up or don't feel the need for that intense a med after a day. If they do need a pain pill after a couple days, they'll either take a Toradol or Ibuprofen and then go on with their lives.

And if she's in that much pain that she needs Norco, then how the hell is she tweeting about needing Norco?

I've refrained from posting my hysto experience up until now because it was atypical but this one tipped me over the edge.

I had an emergency radical, with major complications, blood transfusions & a 2 week forced hospital stay. I was still out of bed, showering & walking the day after surgery & I can't take morphine or ibuprofen so I managed with paracetamol. Suck it up Polly - it ain't that bad

Did she not have a lapro? I'm confused because her mom said something about how they were "closing her up". That's very weird to say over a surgery that just has 3-4 little keyhole that require a stich or a dollop of glue.

Plus her whining over the pain.... it doesn't hurt that bad, unless she's experiencing shoulder pain already from the gas. I could see that, her nasty diet probably makes her a walking gas bubble anyway.

But know what makes gas pain worse? Opiates. They'd be doing her dirty if they started knocking her up with anything more than some ibuprofen and maybe a low dose of tramadol.

Shes really predictable, isn't she? The "I hate it here I hurt so bad" storyline that we all predicted is well on its way

Joh definitely doesn't have a job after this. Even if she has the doctor's OK, Polly's going to be in so much pain that she won't be able to drive him to-from work.

God, what a whiny bitch. If you can tweet about how much pain you’re in, multiple times, you’re not in that much pain. You’d think someone with supposedly debilitating painful disabilities would be less of a pussy.

Right?! You can’t voluntarily yeet your uterus and then pout because other women have babies and you can’t.

"I cannot be happy for other's good fortune because of my own negative life experiences that are almost entirely my fault"

This is like when you are a child and your friend gets a new dog and you don't and you get jealous. I understand losing a baby and being unable to conceive are very painful things for people but wanting other people to not enjoy their happy moments is quite odd for an adult.
She doesn't even want a baby; she just hates the fact that she can no longer pretend she has a choice in the matter. Given that she was effectively sterile on account of her age and the state of her reproductive health, it wasn't going to happen, but she could at least remain in denial and pretend that it might. Not any more.

Josh is already her man slave. He's an insecure loser with a low self-image; Polissa is the absolute best woman he's ever going to get, and he's dog-grateful she'll have him. Guys like that end up insanely devoted to whatever psycho deathpigs reel them in, and will completely fuck up their lives in order to appease them.

"A chick on the hysterectomy FB page got a pain drip."

Yes, Polissa, and despite all the pain you're allegedly in, you're seething with so much envy that you dismissively refer to this other woman as a "chick." How dare that "chick" get better pain management than you?

Maybe that other woman's not a non-compliant deathfat, prematurely falling apart, with various comorbidities because she won't stop shoveling garbage into her face and start taking the most basic steps to improve her health. And maybe it's because she hasn't been flagged as a drug seeker. I'm still unconvinced Polissa went to the ER over the weekend for pain that turned out to be an ovarian cyst, but if she did, and if she pulls shit like this on a regular basis, I can see that playing a role in determining what kind of pain management she gets.

It'd be funny if she got her wish, was transferred to Surgical, and some new parents hit the lullaby bell on the old floor.
PA system's everywhere, goofball. (And this is usually how loud the lullaby bell is; it's not a fire drill or a code.)

I really, really hope Polissa is telling hospital staff that she deserves a PCA because someone on Facebook got one. Laughter is the best medicine, even if you can't do it in front of the patient.

I will never stop loving her ability to hold two opposing ideas at once, and feel self-pity based on both of them.

"I need to be at home with my animals to heal."
"I need a morphine drip."

PICK ONE.

Polissa also has a strange take on how powerful painkillers work. When I ended up being injected with fentanyl, it made no difference to my pain levels, it just made it so that the pain was... distant. Less connected to me. The type of pain that you need a drip for doesn't go away, it just gets easier to live with when you add drugs.

That said, I have had laparoscopic surgery and it was agonisingly painful for months even when everyone told me I'd be over it in a couple of days. I do have sympathy for Polissa in principle, but she's just such an unsympathetic character that it's hard to apply it.

It is normal in the UK, and doctors specialise into one or the other discipline before they become registrars.

I honestly think it would be fucking awful to keep people managing complicated miscarriages on an antenatal ward like they seem to do in the US, but this seems to be what happens. To be fair, I think they do single-bed rooms more. An eight bed room on a ward would definitely not work for mixed obs/gyn. Mostly because where I am, the old ladies in for their cancer treatment would never put the newborns down.

Actually now I think about it, that would be mint since we are all forced to room-in with them. I remember the first night after my section that every one of us in the room had been sectioned, and the eight little buggers cried in shifts all night long. A couple of the lassies were in tears themselves. Honestly shared postnatal wards are shit

So, they play a lullaby for a baby being born and this is happening frequently enough that it’s making her have panic attacks? How many babies are born in this fucking hospital?

This woman clearly has no idea who she’s talking to.

Cluster bs are amazing at changing the narrative if they think it's going to garner them attention, it's quite fun to watch.

She didn't want kids, she was happy to express that. And now that she can't have it she flipped the script to be all "woe is me" because she knows infertility can get women right in the feels.

They have no congruencey with their feelings. They really are failed creations
