imho the all seeing eye/eye of providence/eye of horus/any one eye symbols are the antithesis of your politics & this site. it'd be like printing a pentagram if you were a christian.
I feel it's the duty of the resident history/Tolkien sperg to defend the Eye of Sauron patch and also your characterization of it.
First and foremost, the meme of Kiwifarms being "The Eye of Sauron" goes back to a null rant post.

From the Tolkien perspective, the Eye of Sauron is pretty apt for the Kiwifarms. Sauron could only see through the eyes of the creations of Melkor, his own servants, or someone wearing a Ring of Power. Frodo, being an innocent, was invisible to Sauron unless he wore the One Ring. Really complicated story, very short, the only way the Eye could see you is if you let it. In internet terms, the only way the gaze of the Eye can land on you is if you engaged the internet in a way to deliberately draw its attention.
People around here found the analogy very apt, along with the edgy boy persona of being compared to the first a best Dark Lord. So it stuck.
Mythologically speaking, the lidless Eye, be it of Horus, Janus, or Whomever, is not a negative thing. It's harkens back to prehistoric hunters and is a metaphor for absolute awareness. Not the bad kind, as in, government watching your every move. But the good kind. Being able to see through deceit...or the camouflage of that fucking tiger in the bushes. Or to see through the lies of a bad chief who talks big game but brings home no mammoth.
In this respect it's also an apt metaphor for the farms, especially since we know even journalists who smear this place also use it as a source because the truth tends to rise to the top around here. But that sort of meta commentary is boring compared to Null being fucking Sauron, the Dark Lord, bane of trannies.
