I officially declare this a nothing burger. I was hoping for Antifa to show up last night and they didn't even appear rank & file in their HQ so no way they're coming out tonight anywhere in the country.
 
@Hollywood Hulk Hogan In case you don't know, overturning RvW doesn't automatically give congress the right to ban abortion federally. For that they would almost certainly use precedent set by Wickard v. Filburn, which is a case that the government only won because FDR threatened to pack the court (which already had like 3 FDR appointees) if they didnt rule in his favor.

So if Republicans do pass a federal abortion ban I can intellectually recognize that its unconstitutional for the same reason as the NFA, Obama care, war on drugs, etc. but I'm not going to lose any sleep over democrats fucking themselves over again.

This is what I meant by saying that turning it into a state's rights issue takes almost all of the momentum out of the movement.
You had the blue enclaves in heavily red states that are at risk of losing something throw a tantrum and start shit Friday/Sat.
By Sunday little to nothing is actually going on, It'll just turn into a generational issue, just like legal weed and (in the event Obgerfell is overturned) gay marriage.

I was talking in general, if they'd be opposed to such a thing. Not from a constitutional perspective (that's just a red herring), but from a personal perspective. Would the states rights folks, with the same happiness they are showing now, be showing that same anger at such a thing? I suspect most would not.

McConnell said they are gonna try and with 6 conservative judges (5 if you discount Roberts), I could see it happening. Thomas even hinted towards birth control and gay marriage and sodomy in general being next.

People also aren’t as cooped up in their houses as they were when the BLM riots were happening. I think the general isolation paired with heavy social media exposure made people more likely to join a protest.

I was expecting more people in the places that aren't going to do anything but expand abortion cause more of a stinker since that's where all the action was at excluding Arizona. Why would the people who already have their abortion rights protest, beyond the most narcissistic political martyrdom?
This is why making it a state-by-state thing takes all the extremism out of the topic: the overwhelming majority of pro-choice diehards aren't affected, and the few who are in pro-life states are more focused on generating a grassroots movement to counter some of the most extreme trigger laws than they are on donning red robes and bonnets.
