My rights are fine. I’m all for easy access to more birth control to make it so less women have to even think about getting abortions. I’m also for voluntary sterilizations. Really, a 12-15 week limit for abortion is more than fair, unless it’s for certain exceptions like the endangerment of the mother.

Your Republicans are trying to ban birth control next, by the way. At least Thomas opened the door for it and Louisiana is trying to start that next. And I have rights over my own reproductive organs. You, however, do not. So your rights aren't just fine.

That being said, I'd say a 16 week ban is a fair compromise (with same limitations like you said). 4 months in is pretty far.

I`ve already fielded questions about whether or not the abortion issue is really based in Christian extremism, because the CNN clips that were on TV this weekend potrayed all of the anti-abortion people as Jesus-crazed fundies.

I'll be extremely interested in seeing where the pro-life trigger laws are in, say 5 years. You've called me over-optimistic before, and perhaps that's warranted, but I really don't see most of the extreme trigger laws surviving the next two election cycles.

Yes I would, he would be overstepping boundaries and trying to pass a mandate from heaven like Obamacare, the U.S. government was always meant to be small and decentralized with an emphasis on State autonomy, not an edict passing authoritarian autocracy.

Outside of trad Catholics, I don’t really see many against birth control. Maybe some companies might restrict paying for birth control for their employees, but that doesn’t prevent you from getting it on your own. I’d be fully okay with subsidizing IUDs and other forms of birth control for women on welfare/low income if it means less strain on the welfare system. Kids are more expensive than birth control.
