Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 - Activision attempts to redeem itself... again... September 12th

But again, even with Underground remakes they'd strip out so much of the fun because fun is no longer allowed in the 2020s.

I was appalled at how shitty the character creator in the Remaster was, so I just played the Hawkman himself, which is fine of course and maybe it would be better to have remasters than not have them of 3 and 4 and just settle for playing as the Hawkster himself.

But then in the Underground games there was the Jackass style story modes with things I'm sure they'd have to strip out.

Been playing THPS 1+2 for Switch and noticed a familiar face on a couple of the decks... (apologies for the cell phone pics. What can I say, I'm a boomer :\)

Don't know if this will get much visibility, but was shocked no one had posted it yet. WRT the game itself, it scratches the nostalgia itch nicely, but it's stupid how all the music is censored and other cucked shit.

It's more or less confirmed at this point that the 3+4 remake is in production. I feel this has something to do with the upcoming, TBA skate. game from EA. I heard it will shadow drop for Xbox Game Pass around June of this year.
i really hope skate is good. i'm optimistic about the free to play microtransaction model. the game's gonna be dropping this year so i am excited. i've played the playtests and pre-alphas, and can confirm the microtransactions on skate are minimal, way less intrusive than most live service free games.

I really liked the remake of 1+2 since it managed to do everything right from a gameplay perspective that I don't actually have many valid complaints (other than needing to go online to play it due to the broken multiplayer mode constantly ringing the servers).

It had the damn solid, well-made mechanics and game engine that I enjoyed in Underground with fancier graphics, the career mode was about as perfect as they can make it, and there's always a lot of content to play around with like these games usually do.

Aside from that little hang-up, 1+2 is what I would call a remake done correctly and is one of the few exceptions of an actually good game in a sea of junk. Hopefully, Activision doesn't drop the ball on 3+4 or whatever this next one is going to be once we get a good look at it next week.

well, iron galaxy are developing 3+4, they have botched many pc ports, created rumbleverse which was an absolute flop, and they also have a DEI page on their website, so don't get your hopes up.

Well nevermind. Aftering looking over their site and previous experience in the gaming industry, that doesn't really aspire confidence.

Why Actvision would place a small support group in charge of making a sequel to a critically acclaimed remake, I have no idea; but I suppose we'll see how much of a blunder it could end up becoming when we get a teaser trailer.

i think it's because they are the only people who can do it somewhat well. iron galaxy were the team who ported 1+2 to steam in 2023, so they have the original source code to 1+2, sdk, they know how to work with the game, and considering they recently had some "last resort" layoffs, development is probably cheap too.

Not really super hyped just due to this news, but if they're working with the source code it could go either way.
