You know, I've often wondered about this, as it - at least intuitively, on the face of it - doesn't make a lot of sense for someone who has clearly been sexually abused to fetishize... being sexually abused, basically. I wonder, though, if it's like some kind of crude, self-induced exposure therapy? 🤔 sort of like the way children who are terrified of dogs will be brought to guide dog training facilities (I had a childhood friend whose fear of dogs was helped by this) for controlled exposure to their phobia trigger. I've heard of versions of this method being used for other triggers. Obviously it's not conscious in this case, but I wonder if it's a way for them to recreate what traumatized them in circumstances where they can tell themselves they're in control?

It just seems like way too common of a pattern in FtMs and other transparent kiddy diddling/rape victims to be a coincidence.

Don't think about it rationally. Child abuse (sexual or physical) literally breaks a developing brain. It generates connections and pathways linking things that would not normally go together. There's a reason kids that were raised in abusive households are extremely likely to become abusive adults.

I can tell no one here is well versed in what's going on with enstars right now, so allow me to elaborate on why this criticism is particularly hilarious:

The entire game is written like this. They took down years of lovingly curated fan translations to release an official product that's machine translated from Japanese -> Chinese -> English. It's hilarious this doesn't even register in their review of the game. Not being able to pick preferred pronouns is the absolute LEAST of its problems.

I don't understand why people enjoy this genre of game, it's so incredibly boring and cringe yet SO many of my peers have enjoyed these types of games growing up.

In this case i think about the same way many CSA victims become hamplanets: they want to become so unattractive to potential abusers that nobody would want to diddle them every again. Because you know that men cannot be raped and nobody wants to rape a man.

That or some other trauma that might lead them in that direction. I knew a Gayden once but i never knew them well enough to know the catalyst. I just knew they were a fairly bucthy lesbian and a year later they were on their way to troon out.

Idek if loads of them have been abused, it’s probably more just like they’ve spent ages in a certain area of the internet and so have become exposed to fetishises they might not have known they had.

I think about folks I know who were sex beasted as kids and they don’t go in for this kinda thing really, at least not as a publicly identifiable tag on them

That's what I don't get about giving adolescent TIFs puberty blockers. Other than preventing breast growth and menstruation, what's the appeal? They can always have their tits chopped off and get hysterectomies after they've reached their full adult heights.

When the AGPs were mainly doing it behind closed doors or on Tumblr and you just saw the more harmless young trannies there was usually some sort of child buggery in the back story.

Dunno what it is about an uncle that breaks in gay boys too early that makes them want to put on a dress when they get older though.

It takes a certain kind of person to 'get' them I think. Japanese games with large casts like this are about finding one character in particular that excites you and dedicating your gameplay towards building up that character or that characters collection of cards. It's also a nice way to consume idol music without all the baggage and abuse of that industry, since character VAs are treated more fairly. That being said, enstars is scary and its fans are scarier.

To keep things on topic though, funnily enough enstars has a trans character....sort of. Really more of a turbo gay who speaks in an extremely feminine manner, but western fandom regards them as undoubtedly trans. It's interesting to me for as fucked up and mangled as the translation is, in all official English materials this character is referred to as 'she' consistently. Someone, somewhere, was apparently paying attention?

Transitioning a child should be a crime. Any encouragement like this should not be allowed.

Anyone with a basic grasp of biology knows that boys and girls are physically different due to our genes. Bone density and heart size, you know the rest.

I think they didn’t want to look like they were outright banning trans kids from sport while also simultaneously banning trans kids from sport in practice. While there are trans kids who’ve been indoctrinated by their parents very few if any of them will have fully medically trooned out by the time they turn 12 so I consider this a win. Especially if they consider “fully complete” to mean “had genital surgery” since as far as I know even though there are butchers like teetus deletus lady doing tween mastectomies nobody performs amhole installation on people younger than like 16 at the earliest (or at least that’s how it is right now).
