You Know What Grinds My Gears? - Things that personally piss you off

People smugly talking about how they filmed a police interaction (with a black perp) "just to make sure nothing happens."

Had a coworker tell me she saw a homeless guy chasing a goose around a park trying to hunt and kill it, and I thought she was just telling me a funny/bizarre story.
Then she adds on that the guy was black and so she took out her phone and recorded his arrest "just to be safe."
I think some sick part of them wants the cop to murder the guy just so they'll be the ones with the footage.

Bonus points if the person filming is obnoxiously taunting the cops by shouting about how they're being watched. Nothing like being actively distracted on the job to make sure you do your best.
Additionally, black, white, or whatever, I've noticed that this sort of thing is amping up in general to the point where the wagons circle around the criminal or misbehaving individual and the person with the complaint is made out to be the bad guy. Some of it might be the incentive for 15 minutes of internet fame, maybe some virtue signaling, but there's something else to it that I can't quite put my finger on.

Had a family member get filmed while he babysat a passed out homeless man in front of his business until the cops arrived. "Leave him alone maaaaaan." Okay, sure, but the man had shat himself and will probably start flinging it at people (such as yourself) again when he wakes up. You want to pick him up and put him in your Prius? Take him home, give him a nice little sponge bath? Tongue his taint a little bit? No? Then fuck off.

Edit:
I broke another pair of underwear. I’m mad.
Stop stealing your sisters panties. (jk ;) )

Even if I had a sister she would probably be a fat cow. Also it was in the ocean and I found a reef, think of that what you will.

you must be one of them eh. acting like a retarded child isn’t cute or quirky
FFS, let those chicks manage their complexes. If they are dumb, they are dumb.

I am ugly enough that I end straight in the friendzone no matter what. Why would I wanna look both ugly AND retarded.

Also it was in the ocean and I found a reef, think of that what you will.
Please refrain from fucking the reefs.

Maybe I'm small-minded, but when I text someone and their partner answers for them.
It makes me instantly dismiss them because it's just so weird to me.

I'm not talking texts like "hey, XY is driving, he'll get back to you later", but stuff like "no, he's not coming later. [name of partner signed]".

Do these people also take a shit together? Or rather tell their partner when they're allowed to take a shit?

I mentioned before how I despise stupid gimmicky catchphrases kids pick up online, specifically from Twitch.

My latest peeve is the "yikes" one.

"Oh uncle Therapy Dog, you like classical music...? THAT'S A YIKES FROM ME!"
Yeah? How about I bash your fucking face in you little snot? Get back to me when your balls have dropped and we can discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of classical music.

Of course I don't actually say that since a.) it's my nephew (and I'm not actually psychotic) and b). I'm sure the slang/catchphrases I thought were cool as a kid were just as cringe and retarded, but still, thread relevance...

More of an inconsequential minor annoyance, but I dislike it when people (children and overgrown children) reference and understand things only in the context of being "from" their own favorite pop culture media, especially fiction. I'm not talking about really specific references like "this exact singular dwarf character named Gimli is from Lord of the Rings" or "he's a dwarf, much like Gimli from Lord of the Rings". I mean implying that the entire concept of and the origin of something is "from" media created decades or even thousands of years after the subject was already a thing. I'm enough of a autistic non-autist fuck that this has bothered me since I was little and all the adults around me spoke in this manner as the laziest, most dumbed-down way possible to 'explain' to me or other kids what something is. No, Miss Sharon, crabs are not "from" the Little Mermaid cartoon.

eg; "Oh, it's that dance from World of Warcraft!" says some millennial upon seeing easily one of the most legendary stage dances in a Michael Jackson video. Or buttered beer "from" Harry Potter, elves "from" LotR, dalmatians "from" 101 Dalmatians, or the real wreckage of the Titanic "from" the movie.

Someone did that with a real animal species "from" a cartoon and I mentioned to him the way that sounds, but to no avail. So I gestured at his doberman and said "oh hey, he's one of those dogs from Resident Evil". Que him getting offended and explaining to me that dobermans have been around a lot longer than the RE games while 100% still somehow managing to ignore his previous dumb ass statement. I was being casual and chill about saying why what he said was 'odd', but he was actually offended when I did it to show an example. LOL calm down, I thought I was the one who's autistic about this.

I hate this faggot so much it's unreal.

It actually kind of bothers me how much of a Pavlovian anger response I have to his idiot cartoon face.

Having to give a reason not to do something. Unless it's breathing or eating or a few other bodily functions, I don't need a reason not to do something. Vaccination is the reason this is on my mind, but now that I've picked up on this, it's everywhere. Why didn't I get my COVID shot? I didn't do anything asshole, literally. I sat on my ass and watched cat videos. You had to go out and take action, specifically seek it out. People know this instinctively, but still struggle to make the connection for some reason. If I counter by asking why they aren't fingerpainting right now, they'll tell me, rightly, that they don't need a reason not to be fingerpainting, but then still turn around and demand a reason from me.

Cell phones are another case. A friend of mine was grilled pretty hard by a border agent for not having a cell phone. The guy didn't believe him, because of course, everyone has a phone nowadays, you must be hiding something. I get similar questions, but fortunately I am not allowed to cross the border. There are probably more small examples that crop up if you pay attention.

It creeps me out that anyone who has taken a university-level statistics course can make this error. It's literally the cornerstone of all real science that the null hypothesis doesn't need a reason to be true. By default you assume that whatever you're testing for isn't real, because by far and away most things aren't, and then you stack up the evidence against that. Guess what, asshole? If you do the numbers, I'm not doing almost everything, and so are you.

Looks like the hideous, soulless corporate art style that's trendy these days. They always have beady NPC eyes.

More specifically this picture is from the welcome screen for Microsoft Teams. So in addition to the globohomo art style and the fact that he looks like he's about to try to talk about r/politics with me, I also associate him with everything I hate about my job and the people I work with.
