Palpatine was the #1 character to root for in star wars. The way he subverts the Jedi and the Republic and destroys them was the most engaging hero success story ever.

He's a bad guy because he chooses to be a bad guy. That's pretty evil. Blondie and Tuco had different motivations. Blondie only knew the way of the gun and wanted the gold to get away from that life, Tuco cannot live in civilized society because he's a rabid dog but Angel Eyes could choose and stop at any moment.

I respect House but he's not exactly a good person. His total disregard for life in the name of the greater good. More machine than man. The in-game files even have him listed as "Abomination."

He was a member of the clergy in the original but I think Frollo from the hunchback if the Notre dame was a really good take on the character. Probably the only interesting character in it. Tony Jay's voice helped the character a lot.

Bit of a wierd one. But Sgt Slaughter's heel turn was great I thought, would have been suited better for something other than wrestling. I reckon he would have made a great Rambo villain.

I do like how she is one of the rare female villains in fiction that doesn't try to have some half assed redemption arc to feel bad for her, she's just a completely rotten bitch and I love that.

But there are like so many villains I like, but this man is one of the best villains in film from how he encapsulates the worst of Wall Street Douchebags and is fucking insane. Like he can do the most atrocious of actions yet you still want to follow him because Christian Bale plays him so damn well and it's probably his best role. It helps that he goes really batshit near the end which is really fun to watch.

D-Fens in Falling Down not because he is the bad guy to us, but he is to the world around him. I only recently first saw this film was amazed. I thought it was a goofy knockoff of Taxi Driver, but it is a lot more mature than that.

As for straight bad guy, the dude from Fright Night or maybe Drexel from True Romance.
