I feel this way as a gay man. I saw a thread of aidens once talking about the "gay" stuff they did as children. It was stuff like I liked to dance or I loved the backstreet boys. The insanity of thinking the experiences of a *girl* liking the backstreet boys would be comparable to an effeminate boy openly liking the backstreet boys. Being a gay/effeminate boy can be a painful upbringing especially how you are treated by other boys and adults for gender non conforming behavior, to see that co-opted by mentally ill women just makes my blood boil.

Not a dude, but I'd argue there is quite a difference in how TIF/Real Man interactions play out as opposed to TIM/Real Woman. Male friendship and group dynamics are built around a currency of mutual respect and shared interests. Aidens garner no respect and likely share few interests with the men they try to buddy with outside of vidya (and even then they probably are into different genres then men are.) No man is going to respect a 5 ft confused titless wonder with no sense of self and pube beard who still talks like a woman. TIFs learn very quickly that a few testosterone shots don't magically guarantee they'll be taken seriously as they thought they would. The humiliation is all on them and not the men who reject them.

This is different for women dealing with TiMs. Women (at lest western women) are too steeped in a culture of performative niceness and nurturing of 'misunderstood' weirdos. There is social capital to be gained for women who show themselves to be uber tolerant of TiMs. They don't *respect* the TiMs....but respect isn't what the TiMs are after anyway. The TiMs are all about the fetish and *humiliation* of being a submissive uwu girl. Their performances aren't them pathetically trying to impress women, they are to telegraph their own humiliation and misogynistic view of women. All the while the social rules of being a woman mean one needs to nod their head and say that this gross interpretation of women is totally valid and brave.

tl;dr: Men have always been able to laugh at weak men, which extends to whiny TIFs that try to be men. Women don't have the same luxury with TiMs.

This pretty much also ties into why they’re most frequently seen in fandoms. Fandoms consist mostly of women, at least in the west. I’m not sure how it is for asian countries.

Slight PL: I met a TIF once, thanks to my ex. At first I thought she was a butch dyke, but she transitioned. We had stuff in common due to our jobs at the time. We talked about a certain district manager we hated and then she talked non-stop about how difficult it is being trans and a minority. I changed the topic whenever there was a chance so that all of us could talk about stuff we could relate to. We added each other as facebook friends, but all she would post is stuff about being a minority, a troon and how racist everyone is. The best part is that she had a white girlfriend and posted countless selfies with her. I got drunk one night and went online. There was a typical post from her about white people being evil and I replied with: "for someone that hates white people, you sure love dating them." This comment led to a breakup and I was called a misogynist, racist and transphobe. They cannot take a joke, even if you are considered an acquaintance or friend.

There are quite a few TIFs at my workplace that I have to interact with. Like other people in this thread have mentioned, I've never really felt bothered or offended by what they are doing: I mostly just feel bad for them.

Usually from interacting with them I just get the sense that they have been misguided and manipulated into all of this on numerous facets. I directly supervise a few FtMs in particular and they are for the most part decent workers and nice enough people, and I honestly can't say that I hold any contempt for them or anything like that. I just wish they'd get better.

TIMs, on the other hand, seem much more predatory and malicious in how they co-opt and subsequently invalidate what it means to be female (I'm not a woman so correct me if need be, but I'd bet if you're on here than you agree with me lol) They've never felt the same to me: MtFs are always much more perverse from what I've seen - what they are doing feels much more like an infiltration of womanhood than TIFs and their perceived "manhood".
