Honestly, I actually think it's Hila prepping for the break away/"securing" her own "bag" more than anything. Although that might be what he's thinking in his head about saving the marriage.

But ultimately she knows her brand is worthless without Ethan's podcast, so when the inevitable divorce happens, Ethan is going to be streaming 7x a day as his popularity wanes to provide for Hila's established lifestyle/child support. I suspect his current politics will change when he's a divorced dad dropping the majority of his income on child support.

Then he'll have so much income tied up in that he won't be able to fight the next slew of lawsuits he rains down upon himself by acting like a dumbass.
