This was posted in the reddit General thread last week, but I don't think it made its way here.

Someone claiming to be a nurse made this post on a Canadian subreddit.

Commenters quickly determined that the anti-vaxxer in question was Chris Sky, known for throwing tantrums over getting banned from Twitter. getting arrested multiple times (including at a Build-a-Bear Workshop while dressed as Santa), and doxing himself at a rally and then begging people to stop calling him. The poster gave no indication as to whether commenters were correct.

Chris Sky caught wind of this and decided the best way to refute the accusations was to offer $10,000 to anyone who could prove he was vaccinated.



I've been unable to find any updates after this, but I think the most important point is that Chris Sky is very short, likely no taller than 5'5".

Dude has big balls making such an offer so it's obvious he's vaccinated, going off of what Nicki Minaj said about the vaccine's side effects.

It's because of when it was introduced. I don't think there's been a vaccine introduced during a time of great social/political/economic unrest. In addition, I don't think that any other vaccines have been mandated for anyone besides school-age children, let alone to the degree the COVID vaccines have. When you've got the old geezer president making threats against unvaccinated people and mobs of people wishing death upon the unvaccinated, it really muddies the waters. If they took a page out of Trump's book and just encouraged people to get the vaccine without trying to force people's hands, we'd have fewer "anti-vaxxers".

Yup, although leeches are also good for reattaching amputated fingers and stuff. (I assume they can be used for any amputation reattachment, but fingers I have heard of several times) Arteries are easier to establish than veins (I think I have that right) so blood pumps INTO the attached limb, but not back out.

Enter leeches. Put them where the used blood is pooling and they pull it out, making room for fresh oxygenated blood.

Its really cool.

It's going to vary by state, but you also have developmentally disabled care facility residents, correctional inmates, and healthcare workers to consider. And the armed forces.
 
Can vouch for that nurse from the reddit post. There's a local antivax loudmouth that got his shots at our clinic (the day I was getting my own booster).

Looked up the trailer for this. They snagged John Vogt, to no surprise since he'll whore out to any right wing Christian cinematic project without question, and he's about as professional as it seems to get. Reviews seem to agree, the usual simp or two just wanting to be reaffirmed gave it 10/10, but everyone else pretty much summed it up as a no budget sermon film that your community theater could probably do better.

As always, The Left Can't Meme, but The Right can't do any other form of entertainment.

Plenty of hospital systems mandate that their employees get vaccinated for basically any disease that has a vaccine. Hell, almost every hospital near me mandates yearly flu shots for all employees. Also, the people who are currently refusing to get the COVID vaccine were never going to do so of their own volition. Many of these people are 100% certain that the vaccine will kill them, or make them infertile, or give them Super AIDS or whatever other nonsense they've read on their Facebook timeline. Ever since the vaccines started being distributed, the CDC, WHO, and other health organizations have done everything in their power to encourage people to get vaccinated. It didn't work, because for some people, if an authority figure asks them to do something, they do the opposite because they're free thinkers who don't want to be controlled like the rest of the sheeple. That's why the unvaccinated have been the target of so much ire. They have the mentality of a selfish child, they refuse to take a simple action to help themselves and their communities because "I don't wanna".

My primary annoyance is the wilful blind spot that exists for people that have already had COVID and do not want a theraputic. They don't need the theraputics, they already have the antibodies. Yet they are treated the same as someone that has not taken a theraputic. And that lack of nuance from the government in particular leads me to be more skeptical of the whole thing. Not because I think the theraputics are going to kill inordinate numbers of people, but because I suspect that people are being pushed to an irrational fear of COVID and damage is being done to our society for the benefit of pharmaceutical companies and their shareholders in government.

I say that because most of the bawwing about Big Pharma being opportunistic ( a for profit company being OPPURTUNISTIC?! SHOCKER!) were the same people who didn't have word 1 to say about even greasier behavior from Haliburton, Nestle, fucking Blackwater and the like. The same people screaming havoc about teh ebil Big Pharma once said that it was in our best interests to STOP US citizens from purchasing prescription meds outside US borders even though it would let us have even brand names for far cheaper. It's even more stupid when this is being called Communism.

In EU, you basically get a certificate if you have been fully vaccinated OR have been sick with COVID. The only difference is how long the certificate is valid. Those that have been vaccinated have a longer expiration date.

Why ? Because antibodies decrease over time and the disease keeps mutating into new variants making old antibodies less effective.

I notice that all these antivaxxers take an almost creationist-like approach to the science of Covid: they have their conclusion set in stone first, and retroactively try and find evidence to support their viewpoint. They accept anything that reinforces their existing view (Facebook mom memes) and discard anything that doesn’t (literally anything evidence-based). But it is all motivated by one thing: they cannot at all abide someone telling them what to do. You could tell them that “Joe Biden supports breathing oxygen guise” and they would hold their breath shouting, purple-faced, that that they are the free thinkers. In fact, they are the furthest thing from free-thinkers, they are just reactionaries. They paint their opponents to be sheeple who simply do what they are told, but they only do exactly the opposite of what they are told. They are simply slaves in the opposite direction. (I could sperg on this for way too long to be healthy, but that’s exactly what the right has made of them: useful idiot slaves pushing agendas when they don’t even realize it).

They’re basically those emo kids you saw in high school. “You’re a total conformist unless you look and dress exactly like me. Fuck the man, shop at Hot Topic.”

I know it’s a uniquely-American thing to have such an oppositional defiance to… anything, I guess. But I believe sociologists are going to chew on the current antivax mindset for decades to come. It’s a manifestation of some deeper social rot, and I suspect some combination of poor education, low upbringing, and good old-fashioned Too Much Internet Syndrome have a role to play. But anytime you see an antivaxxer you will know one thing: they are deeper slaves to the system they profess to hate, but as they are led deeper into the asylum, they insist that they can’t see the bars because they have memes.
