So, I've been autistically finding pictures of trannies from the 50s through 70s. Kind of weird that Marilyn Monroe's picture is shown in the images when you search "trans women from the 1960s", but whatever. Of note, apparently in the 60s, this dude went around Paris and took pictures of the trannies there, which is where most of these pictures come from. He sounds suspiciously like a secret chaser/closet fag but whatever.

How nice it is to see a direct contrast to portray what we've been saying for ages. Vintage trannies (if they even considered themselves trannies and not just drag) pass a million times better because they dress like women who are their own age instead of 14 year old anime schoolgirls. These men clearly understand fashion and makeup too (or they had it done by professionals, but even then there are plenty of male makeup artists and fashion designers.) Plus actually taking care of their appearance and physique instead of letting themselves become fat blobs. And they didn't even have the luxury of facetune!

That is true, but AGP still existed back then, even if there wasn't a name for it back then. I'm sure most stayed in the closet or only dressed up privately at home, but I'm sure there are some who are featured in these pictures, but because of the requirement in that period was that you had to appear convincingly as a woman. so they blended in with the HSTSs.

There are pictures of Nazi officers dressed in lingerie and other women's clothing. And pretty sure if you're a Nazi officer, you're going to be a straight male. When straight men dress up in women's clothing, unless they're doing it for an acting role or as a costume, they are doing it for purely sexual reasons. Whether they transition or not, whether they realize it's a sexual fetish or delude themselves into trying to actually become a woman, it is purely for sexual reasons.

Even if back when HSTSs were the majority, there were definitely some APGs among them. Again, before AGP had become named and documented, there was obviously enough men with symptoms of this paraphilia that they learned to distinguish it from effeminate men with dysphoria, to straight men who had no dysphoria, but a sexual desire.

And this is one reason I hate why feminists are fucking blamed for this troon shit. Male doctors like Blanchard were the ones who stated that even though they have a sexual paraphilia, have no dysphoria, we should still allow AGPs to transition. And this shit was pretty much kept hidden from the general public, while the image of HSTSs was pushed so society thought trannies were essentially harmless, and also thought there was stringent requirements and gatekeeping for allowing a male to transition into a woman.

I do believe that AGP used to be extremely rare, but unfortunately, if you read about crimes in history, you can spot AGP tendencies, though because psychology was not a thing, it was just assumed these people were insane and they were either killed or thrown into prison/insane asylum.

I highly doubt AGPs would partake in stuff like this. AGPs existed back then and they weren't even that rare, but it was mostly straight men or men in the closet due to denial, and they kept it private. They wouldn't be interested in doing it publicly and with gay men out of everyone.

I think it's also partially because of the styling. You know how photos of teenagers from the 1950s tend to look like adults, because we associate the clothing and everything with older adults? Well we're not used to seeing trans women from the 1950s so they're passing better at first glance.

That said this was an era of fashionable women wearing quite pronounced makeup which does help (whereas women today tend to go for more natural/no makeup looks unless it's a special event, so someone walking around with massive graphic eyeliner stands out). Also it was way more common for white women to wear wigs back then. Also these are still posed photographs with no cis women in frame. But I do think some of these trans women probably passed ok in real life, if only because people weren't primed to expect trans women the same way we are now.

That said, I'm not sure this is all that contradictory.
