Metal Gear Solid 2 is a steaming pile of piss

Norman Reedus is too boring to draw me in. Dude cant act for shit and has a monotone voice, I thought everyone stopped caring about The Walking Dead 5 years ago
hE's NoT cLaSsIcAlLy HaNdSoMe BuT...

Remember Sean Bean in Sharpe? He looks rough and could kick some ass.

It seems like Norman hasn't evolved since The Boondock Saints. He still wears a teenage haircut. The makeup artists put mud on him, and that’s (apparently) what the female subconscious brain decided is hot.
Could you imagine MGS style remakes of the first 3 games? 3 being both Metal gear 2 and metal gear 2:snake's revenge? Fucking cyborg venom big boss?
I had the same thought. Sort of an alternate timeline, like Ac!d and Ghost Babel.

Snake's Revenge
is the worst game, in every respect. I just like baddies coming back as cyborgs.

I'm a sucker for Mads Mikkelsen.

If Kojima decided to make nothing but Death Stranding sequels with exponentially more artsy fartsy up its own ass stories for the rest of his life, as long as Mads was the main character, I'd play em.

I'm not going to defend his acting because I haven't experienced enough of it, however throughout the year I've watched the travel show Ride, hosted by Norman Reedus and Norman honestly comes off as a very likable guy in it.

You know what would kick ass? A remake of the original Metal Gear in the Fox engine with a crazy coked up late 80s soundtrack
At the very least I wish MG1 had gotten a remake on the GBA, MG2 is awesome and holds up very well, but MG1 is not so hot, I managed to beat it once in 2008 even though I didn't find the experience very enjoyable, but every time I've attempted to replay it I haven't gotten far due to finding it so tedious.

It's one of those games that was ground breaking for it's day, but simply doesn't hold up, out of all of them it's the one that needs a remake the most.

What I really want is a full action remake of Metal Gear Acid 1 and 2. I can't even go past 5 mintues in the game, I'm really, really bad at card game systems

I might be willing to give them a try if they ever got a re release.

They look interesting from what ive seen, but im not gonna fire up a psp emulator to play Metal Gear: Chains of Memories

I could see that being a possibility. I've never heard anyone mention it but to me one of the movies he obviously pulled things from was the 1982 movie Firefox. Clint Eastwood was 50 in that movie, former military special ops glowie or whatever it was, he is retired and lives a secluded life up in Alaska until.. he has to infiltrate a soviet facility that houses a spectacular new weapon, the Firefox.
edit: there's even a sort of Otacon, not a dweeb like that, but insider scientists working on Firefox that helps him out.
I need to watch that again; from what I remember, this sounds really plausible.
Speaking of now-obscure 1980s movie references, though:

No kidding.

I was chasing childhood memories via home video a few years ago, and it'd have to be a huge coincidence how much
  1. clone angst
  2. completely plausible and well-researched explanations of genetics and biology
from Twins just went straight into MGS1.

1988, don't know how well the movie did in Japan, but you cannot dissuade me from my theory.

the Sorrow is the hottest metal gear daddy

As we learn from Strangelove's tapes, the Boss had a type, and that type was pale, creepy nerds.

All the magazines did that. I remember the EGM review went something along the lines of, "brace yourself, Solid Snake is NOT the main character of MGS2", next to a big page splash of Raiden's head.

It had to be damage control: stop word-of-mouth from spreading.
It was damage control and spite, as Konami had an explicit NDA thing going on leading up to the release of MGS2 banning people from talking about Raiden being the main character.

To the point that the chief reasons we don't have and non-Japanese import/US based toys of anything Metal Gear Solid outside the Ashley Wood Metal Gear Mech since then, is Kojima's eternal butt-hurt that Todd McFarlane explicitly spoiled the Raiden twist on the box art/text for his MGS2 toy line; which came out a couple of weeks before the game hit shelves.

Wow, I always wondered why we never saw McFarlane toys figures for 3 or any of the other games, now I know why.

Norman Reedus is a former male model who hit it big during the whole heroin chic period in the mid-late 90s. His sleazy quasi-grunge/alt rock white trash looks got him work (even getting him a gig in a Radiohead video, Fake Plastic Trees) back when TPTB wanted to flaunt their heroin addiction/glorification of soulless druggies as the new standard of beauty and he had the foresight to transition into acting, to avoid having his modeling career die on him when the public finally had enough of Big Fashion throwing it into Americans faces that they did heroin and hated traditional beauty.

The reason women lust after him is purely based on the fact that the Walking Dead producers basically write him as an Alpha Male with a secret soft side and a mommy complex as seen with his relationship with Carol, who was aged up on the show so they could do creepy mommy/son subtext towards their relationship that women could project themselves onto.

I remember reading the spoiler months in advance in a preview. This actually made the game worse for me because for months I knew that Snake died after the tanker but I did not know that he would show up in the main game so I really didn't trust the guy pretending to be Snake.
