Fortnite really isn’t that popular anymore, weird how he’s still bringing it up
And by “weird” I mean obsessed lol
It's the game he associates with the "muppets" he is jealous of and therefore hateful towards.
@Wasabi Panda It is truly endless, the list of things Phil could spare himself of if he could just get a grip on his obnoxious need to feel like he's better than everybody else. I mean seriously, think of how many fewer insults we would have here for him to read if he played by the rules and followed consistent logic. Imagine how much less of an ass he would look like if he didn't constantly have to be "right".
That's where so much of what he rants about comes from, that's why he retcons his own history so much: he sees an opinion and HAS to publicly take the opposite stance whether he actually feels that way or not because his need to be superior is THAT strong. Remember his autistic "It's not a release date, it's a release window!" bullshit? Remember how he claimed it was such a "pet peeve of his"? Fake, all of it. Every word that spilled out of his droopy mouth was bullshit designed solely for the purpose of giving him the false satisfaction of being the guy getting it correct.
The only thing crazier than his unhinged ravings is the fact that he's willing to settle for such empty gratification of his impulses. He knows he's not correct about anything, but it's easier and more comforting than not being a pigroach.
The funny part is that if he didn't insist on approving every comment, troll comments would probably net him enough engagement to get superthanks enabled
Just one of many ways in which he tries to get all three birds and therefore winds up with zero. He wants more money, but refuses to take the laughs at his expense, or do better. What sets him apart from others who have the same problem is that he trudges forward instead of making a compromise. Most folks either give up on their longings, or give up on being lazy. Phil refuses to relent on either, ever.
BMWs literally do tell you they need repairs, and even that they need their oil changed. Phil just ignored it, because the car didn't attach its handholding to a 50-bit cheer.
Speaking of his BMW, that's another tell that he needs a specific prompt in order to think of a grift angle, because Bimmers are notorious for breaking, yet he never uses his car as begging material. There's no way he knows about their rep, he doesn't pay attention to anything besides wrestling, and since he doesn't drive himself anywhere, I have to assume that Katherine is probably the one dealing with the car's (thus far minor) issues, not him. He has no idea that it's an expensive ticking time bomb, or that he could easily make up more believable grifts with that car.
Though it could also be that he doesn't like drawing attention to his possession of a BMW, since it pokes holes in his pleading of poverty, but I doubt it because he still brags about nice meals all the time, so he clearly isn't pay close enough attention to maintaining his bullshit narrative.
I don't know what situation would be funnier to witness, that one or the current.
The one where he reaches enough engagement despite hindering it with his censorship, only to wind up disappointed because his foul mouth and caustic personality fucked him anyway.
