Here's the thing. There is a difference between dry and boring, and failing to be sufficient. The issue is that the jury needs to be pointed to what is important and how it is important. Richards simply is not doing that.

If he doesn't do this, he is incompetent. Even now I think he is because he's taken so long to get to this point of "shit is happening so quick", but all he's doing is using the word "shots". It's all filtering like a fog. Who knows whether they are listening at all.

He needs to have an impactful statement/direct at the end of all of this to make sure that everyone is clear that this was seconds, not enough time to moralise, only act on reflex.
