Just my opinion, the kid is fucked. No matter how hard the state bungles this case, they'll get a conviction. This isn't about truth or justice, its a symbolic victory for the authorities. Kyle resisted the commie takeover and now he's gotta be made an example. Even if somehow he manages to escape this trial the feds could probably find some justification to charge him based on that whole crossing state lines thing.

I honestly hope I'm wrong, but I see the way the machine works and I don't have much faith in the system to actually work.

What? The Tutsi are absolutely a minority, and were before the genocide, as the target population there. The Hutu majority were the ones doing the killing. I think the ratio is around 4:1 in favor of Hutu.

Barnes said with a random jury and no arguments from either side it's almost certainly a mistrial from a hung jury (he's at least claiming to be using high quality polling to do this). I'd assume we're random or better and the defense are killing it on arguments.
