Canada Federal election 2021

In that scenario, the combined Liberal+NDP+Green seat count would be 162; not a majority, but still enough to keep the Conservatives out of power unless they somehow manage to get the Bloc on-side. The lack of another right-wing party in parliament really looks to be a problem for them.

Looking at past elections, it seems that there was once another right-wing party (Social Credit) that the Conservatives used to fall back on whenever they fell short of a majority, but they apparently dropped off the map at the start of the 80s. So it seems that two right-wing parties can exist in Canada without buttfucking each other in the process, they just don't seem to have been able to do it for the last four decades.
Just because the Liberal+NDP+Green vote adds up to more seats, does not mean that LPC is the PM. The PM goes to whoever has the most seats, unless a coalition is made. Trudeau said he didn't want a coalition, while CPC was willing to work with everyone. Keep in mind, NDP hates Trudeau right now, they were still in debt from last election and payed a fortune this election (even mortgaging their headquarters) and still have no results. Green leader also dislikes Trudeau, but even LPC+Green wouldn't beat CPC in that case. It's a bunch of what if, but its a lot different then what we're seeing now. As a second point, even if CPC was denied the PM position, they can still pass bills with 1 more party instead of both secondary parties like now.

Liberal, NPD, and Green will continue to pull shit like rushing in bill C-10, one of the main reasons now that I will never vote for any of those 3 parties.

Mm disagree with this. Prairie separatism is inherently economic/political rather than cultural and simply lacks a driving issue to grow. For example it would've become a thing if Trudeau dumb enough to cancel the Trans-Mountain pipeline expansion.
Being an Albertan, there is a cultural component to it as well as we were once the frontier and more strongly influenced by the United States because they are closer to us than Ottawa. I expect the rift to grow wider as Trudeau and LPC force their agenda on the Prairies (plus the BC interior) with the aid of the NDP and Bloc. Despite, their slogan of "Forward, together", the LPC personify the political stagnation of this county as there is no true desire to rectify Canada's myriad structural problems.

Except bill C-10 couldn't pass in the hypothetical no-PPC vote splitting case. At the end of the day PPC are their own worst enemy, and I hope Trudeau properly thanks Bernier for the work he's done for him over the last 3 years.

This is essentially correct. Much of Canadian culture, for some time, has been kind of centered about having no real culture. If you've ever heard the term "economic zone," that's what Canada has increasingly presented itself to be
The fact that Canada has slapped...this...on anything government related since the 80s says it all:

That's not a nation. That's a brand.

lol true!! Any bill that was in place in the previous government can probably go ahead now.
imagine screwing over a whole nation for 3+ years just to get a seat and "make your voices heard"

They have to restart each of those bills, and without the threat of another election, it can be stalled longer. There's a reason Trudeau wanted a majority, he couldn't get everything he wanted with the minority. Plus investigations into him will continue to hurt him in the near future.

I was under the impression that the incumbent PM is allowed to try and put together a government, either as an actual coalition or just the type of informal arrangement that Trudeau currently has with the NDP.

Green party voters are most definitely not anti-vax. In fact the green part and its voters are the most radical liberals in canada. Most of the green party voters are adamant about wanting segregated facilities for anti vaxxers and to treat them as second class citizens.
I don't need to read what their current leaders platform is to know their history of being anti-vax. Keep in mind, their leader was going to be removed by Christmas but an election being called kept her on. The Greens have crazies, seen here in Canada and across the sea in the UK green party as well.
America's Hat has it right, you might be surprised at how rabidly anti-vax some leftist voters are. For example take the NDP voters in either the Kootenays or Vancouver Island, a lot of them are your old school hippies more concerned about personal freedom - i.e. free love and pot smoking - and rejection of overbearing authority. They ironically swing libertarian socially, yielding (for the average person) seemingly counterintuitive opinions like distrust of vaccines. The reason these people usually vote Green or NDP is over environmental issues and it's why a lot of them crossing over to the PPC makes sense.

They have the right, but generally thats only when the minority keeps a plurality of seats or they tie. If the minority loses to another party they lose their PM position. Its done through a vote of the house, so its pretty simple and not up to chance. The last time a party went from minority to official opposition was the 2006 Election, and the Liberals lost their PM position to Harper, even though the liberals were the ex-PM and both parties were a minority (but conservatives had more seats).

Última edición:
Funny how the so-called "natural governing party" of Canada has only won the popular vote once since 2004.

I swear, these liberal parties (much like the Democrats) are nothing but corpses propped up by biased media, astro-turfing and fraudulent tactics.

And the Canadian MSM will keep their mouths shut about that detail because it won't fit with their narrative.

To any Americans - if you ever get into a debate with someone about the Electoral College, just show them our Elections and how two or three population centers can completely motherfuck the rest of the country. See what they say.
That is what those people want though, they want Commiefornia and New York to fuck the middle of the country.

We should all keep our eyes fixated on the next CPC leadership race that will inevitably happen within the next 12 or so months.

Ideally get a candidate that isn’t going to cuck out like O’Toole did. Maybe one with some PPC-esque policies to stop the vote splitting.

Or just one who will have better policies than the LPC. Since it was a snap election, I’m willing to forgive the CPC for not being as organized as they could have been. But we should at least prepare for Trudeau to pull this stunt again.

I was hoping for Leslyn Lewis to win the last Tory leadership race. Partly because it would've interesting to see how Trudeau would've handled a black woman as leader of the opposition. (Given how nasty he was to the leader of the Greens in the English debates.) At least she won a seat and I hope she rises up in the party.

Fun fact ladies and gents, PPCucks gave Trudeau a very strong minority, he can work with any of the 3 parties for individual bills. The end result of this election is exactly how it started, Liberals can choose any of the 3 parties to make and pass a bill, likewise they can block any bill with another party. The other 3 parties (BQ, NDP, and CPC) have to work together to pass anything agaisnt the LPC, which is extremely unlikely as they are all different in terms of what they want. Green is irrelevant as always.

Now lets looks at vote splitting, to the PoorPeopleParty:

If all PPC votes go to conservatives, the Liberals will have 140 seats and the CPC will have 144, meaning we'd have a conservative minority. This would cause 2 things, a new PM, but could also be the end of the modern LPC. Trudeau is the first "good leader" they've had in a while, and without him the LPC could fall behind. With this, parties that go from majority -> minority -> opposition rarely keep their leaders, which could've hurt the LPC for the next ten years. Now not all PPC voters are ex-CPC voters, but its important to see real change was obtainable, but due to one french man being buthurt about not being a PM candidate, we now get a minimum of 18months with Trudeau in power.
Let's say we had all voted CPC instead of PPC: what the fuck would be the difference? Trudeau and O'Toole had more or less identical platforms. If he hadn't cucked out on guns and vax mandates I would have voted for him.

Leslyn lewis is everything wrong with the CPC, pure pandering. She only got that far because she's black, she can't speak a word of english and was unpopular in the GTA and especially in Quebec.

He didn't cuck out on guns, maybe read the thread where I already outline the gun topic, or do some independent research (which is read each platform for 2 minutes). Secondly, O'Toole was campaigning on rapid testing for those who don't want vaccine, but by what I'm seeing you say, its clear that you just follow headlines from CBC and PPC figure heads that grifted your vote.
