Not a dumb idea. Worked in a way with the Tories and the Brexit party last election. Tories started seeing how the wind was blowing and started turfing out wets on the Brexit issue, then tied up with the Brexit party in some form of "truce" where the Brexit party would run candidates in Labour areas to split the Labour vote, allowing the Tories to secure the win. If they didn't swing pro Brexit then the Brexit party was going to stand in their areas and split the vote there.Counterpoint: Fuck the CPC. Liberals in blue suits with a hard-on for pipelines, give me a fucking break.
It's not enough for the CPC to win. They need to enact the policies I care about. They aren't even pretending to want to do that anymore. I'd rather burn a vote on an outsider party in the hope that their growing popularity spooks the CPC into becoming worthwhile.
It wouldn't work in Canada, we've already tried this, Reform + Progressive Conservatives. They had to merge to actually win elections because two right wing parties will only split the right vote. Unless CPC backs out of the west and Maverick runs as the replacement with coalitions between both groups, the LPC would win every election with a majority. It's not even speculation, we had it happen previous in this country and it took multiple Liberal Majorities for the parties to merge together into modern conservative. Not a dumb idea. Could this happen with Canada? Possibly. Turn the CPC hopes of winning an election near impossible by splitting the vote unless they start aligning more of their positions on certain key issues with the more right wing elements of the country, or just end up never taking power again.
So...basically Canada is going to keep cucking and it's going to not go well. Sad.It wouldn't work in Canada, we've already tried this, Reform + Progressive Conservatives. When you compare Canada to Brexit, you are simplifying the east-west divide between conservatives. We don't have unifying issues across the country like Brexit, other then the hypothetical of leaving the monarchy, all of our issues are regional/provincial. The landscape, geopolitics and economy of Canada is incomparable to the rest of the G7/world, which gives us very unique and difficult problems for the FPTP system to solve. Proportional representation similar to the states, along with separation of State and House of Commons would be a start, but most likely would never be enacted by the Liberals, and the Conservatives would face difficulties as well.
The way things are going with no solutions being presented will most likely lead to balkanizations some time in the future and smaller states will be enacted. The US will protect the oil fields for both their economy and to prevent Russia from taking over, and Russia will attempt a play for a new satellite state. Of course China will be involved, so it's looking like dark times ahead.
Despite what people say, Canadians live one of the nicest life in the world, there is very little reason for people to search for problems. Until something happens to an individual, nothing will change.So...basically Canada is going to keep cucking and it's going to not go well. Sad.

Reading her Wikipedia page, it looks like her leadership of the party's been quite the entertaining trainwreck. Apparently she managed to drive one of the party's three MPs into defecting to the Liberal Party over some dispute involving Israel, and rather than admit she might have fucked things up slightly, she tried to claim that the Trudeau's deputy was engaged in some insidious plot to destroy the Green Party and sell out all Canadian women because reasons.I figured that this thread is dead, but I'll add on that Annamie Paul announced her pending resignation as Green Party leader back on the 27th of September. In her riding she went from having a second place finish to the Liberal candidate in the 2020 by-election with 32.7% of the vote down to just 8.54% and a fourth place finish this time around in the federal election.
I wonder how the Green party would have done if they had chosen that guy who looked like a Russian boxer?Reading her Wikipedia page, it looks like her leadership of the party's been quite the entertaining trainwreck. Oh, and naturally she's accusing the party of not being willing to be run by a black woman - even though she won the last leadership election by a margin of about 8% over some guy who looks like a Russian boxer.

If nothing else, the clusterfuck over Paul's support for Israel would never have taken place, as the guy she beat is anti-Israel and pro-Palestine. Beyond that it's anyone's guess.I wonder how the Green party would have done if they had chosen that guy who looked like a Russian boxer?
