So Alberta's premier Jason Kenney just decided to implement vaccine passports for some retarded reason. I seriously wonder if this will swing some votes for PPC. Not even trying to be a PPC simp here. Whenever conversations at work have brought up the vaccine passports before today (only found out once I got off work, so I have a feeling everyone else is just finding out now too), not a single person has talked kindly about them despite my team having the most amount of liberals of all the teams in my area. A lot of my conservative coworkers were already debating on voting PPC this time, so I wonder if today's decision might cement their decision. I'll ask around tomorrow if I can spend more than an hour inside.

It might swing a few votes towards the PPC, but if it's in a part of the country where the Conservatives were typically winning by 60-70% last time around, it's probably not going to amount to much.

Oh this will swing some votes, not much overall, but there's a handful of Calgary and Edmonton seats for example where such a percentage move will enable the Libs or NDP to take them (and that doesn't get into the numerous Ontario ridings in the same situation).

Kenney's move makes me seriously MATI as it opened the flood doors on this bullshit and the only good point is knowing that fat fuck has kissed his political career goodbye. The UCP are going to tear themselves apart over the next year because the rural members aren't going to quietly put up with something they've been repeatedly told would never happen - and they make up half the party.

Correct, the Bloc are exactly like the SNP in Britain, they only run candidates in Quebec and couldn't care less what the rest of Canada thinks. Hell Blanchet even admitted outright in the last debate he's not running to be PM. All the Bloc care about is serving as spoiler and kingmaker to keep the gibs flowing into Quebec.

From what I've read, it doesn't sound like the Canadian federal system is easy to "fortify." They use paper ballots everywhere. But again, it's not needed when state-ran media like the CBC just tells everyone who to vote for.

I hate Jagmeet Singh so, so much. He's a smug, smarmy piece of shit. He's overseen the final part of the long transition of the NDP away from it's social democratic roots to the generic liberal party it is today. He may have obtained the NDP leadership by fraud; he won on the first ballot against far more popular candidates. He won because he signed up tens of thousands of new party members whose only action as members was to vote for him before immediately letting their memberships lapse. Of course he signed up all the new members in Brampton, Ontario. If they even existed they were likely all pajeets who voted for him only because he's a pajeet. The NDP declined to investigate his leadership campaign because they decided the political cost of being seen to investigate their own leader for potential campaign fraud was greater than that of having a leader who may have obtained his leadership by fraud. Normies don't even remember his leadership campaign anyways, much less the extremely suspicious circumstances under which he won.

And then he carpetbagged into a riding thousands of kilometers away, a riding in BC that he had no connection to at all, and enough people in that riding were stupid enough to vote for him to help him win.

I wish I lived in his riding just so I could vote against him.

Sadly pajeets will vote for pajeets. The world can go on about "colour blind" voting but this is the harsh truth.

Can confirm it's not. For starters you need ID, and not just any ID: identification must be government ID with your photo and address. ID doesn't have your current address? You need a second piece of approved ID like a bank statement with your current address on it.

Next are the actual ballots. As said it's all paper, period; voting machines are only used in certain provinces or municipalities. There has been a shift to mail-in voting (unfortunately IMO), but it's also heavily restrictive as you must request the ballot, it must be received by election day, it cannot be cured, and if you vote in-person your mail-in ballot is immediately voided; this is a checkbox on the voter rolls to my knowledge. Also those voter rolls are on site at every voting site to immediately check off a voter just before they submit their vote.

Last are Elections Canada themselves. Vote counting effectively done several times as each party is allowed to have multiple observers at each riding station - no ridiculous 6m distancing either. As mail-in votes are received at these riding stations too, it's easy to catch discrepancies as they happen thanks to those aforementioned voting rolls. Oh, and EC does vote counting entirely by hand.

Ironically for being terminally pozzed, Canada arguably has one of the better electoral systems when it comes to voting. It really proves how paper is king and how such a system can ensure faith in the electoral process.
