I don't want to totally refute your point, and I get that "haha furries can't keep a job lol" is sort of the joke of the fandom, but the idea of a psychiatric therapist being a closet zoo and dogfucker is hardly impossible. We had a furry who buys thousands of dollars worth of Fox McCloud/Falco macro porn who also happens to be a neurosurgeon; education and occupation are not disqualifying factors for someone being a secret degenerate.
I'm hoping that he's lying and/or it's a worthless degree and he's overstating his importance, but let's not forget that zoosadist Kintari was a vet tech which requires a minimum 2 year bachelors degree to qualify and that he used his position to get sedatives for the other zoosadists. A lot of zoos unfortunately also like claiming that jerking off animals is totally fine because "people do it all the time for animal husbandry" when that's simply a false equivalence at best.
While it's true that jerking off animals it is often done for the sake of husbandry, I think a person's motives do go a fair bit into why a random pet owner doing it for sexual gratification is extremely inappropriate vs. someone doing it for the purposes of controlled reproduction is not.
Someone jerking off a horse (for example) to get sperm samples for artificial insemination has a purpose beyond just individual gratification; mares can get injured during mating by overaggressive stallions, which increases risk of infection or distress and even miscarriage; it allows the owner to send seminal samples for testing in case of infertility or genetic issues; even freezing for later use if the stallion needs to be gelded for any reason. It's not done because it gets the animal off. It's done explicitly for the medical health of not only the animal the sample is collected from, but also the animal that sperm sample might be provided to later in order to bear healthy offspring. It's a safer method of animal husbandry that allows the owner more control over exactly which animals reproduce and when, which can be critically important for horses and other herd animals that typically need to be kept together in social groups.
That is a very different context and purpose than just letting an animal cum in your mouth for pleasure. Most people who do animal husbandry this way typically have some training and know that jerking the animal off with your bare, bacteria-covered hands is a bad idea that is prone to increase a risk of infection; some breeders who don't give a fuck might do things that way, but if they're that shitty they probably just let their animals fuck naturally and never bother consider spaying/gelding/neutering them, let alone going through the additional costs of equipment and testing for artificial insemination.

Well yeah, absolutely. Ultimately that's the biggest problem with zoos claiming they are doing what they do for the "benefit of the animal"; the animal may enjoy a few moments of physical pleasure (assuming they're even the type of animal that is capable of enjoying sex beyond just responding to reproductive hormonal spikes), but they still cannot adequately comprehend risks such as infection or even really be able to say "no" in a singular, concise fashion. I know there are many zoos who say animals can refuse consent through body language or some shit, but it really depends on the animal and how they're raised and if the person even knows what "body language" is supposed to mark a refusal for sexual engagement; much like certain people, some animals will go along with acts or behaviors they're uncomfortable or unwilling to do to avoid causing conflict or receiving some form of rejection or punishment.
Most animal training is built upon the principal of making an animal trust and look to their owner for guidance and care even if they are put into an uncomfortable or frightening situation; this is why abusing that trust by fucking them (even if the abuser's only interested in getting the animal off for their supposed "benefit") is so insidious. It's coercion masquerading as consent.
We see the argument time and time again from dogfuckers of "oh, if the animal didn't like it he'd bite!" as if dogs aren't raised from an early age to not bite people on principal. As if dogs haven't been bred (especially common pets) not to bite family members through domestication for literal centuries. As if they aren't constantly discouraged from barking or howling or making other forms of noise for the sake of disturbing nearby neighbors or other people in the house.
How the fuck are you supposed to have an assurance of consent from an organism that is bred, raised, and encouraged into going along with whatever you decide is right for it.

Furries being open with their degeneracy is nothing new, even on those levels. I've recently been on a watch myself, because (slight powerlevel) one of my family members - a minor - has been going through various furry chats. Telegram chats are particularly and perpetually making me nauseous. Usually I would say "you wouldn't believe the shit that gets posted there", but we're on the zoosadism thread.
Furries thrive on grooming minors and exposing them to zoophilia/pedophilia, but as it was mentiomed once in this thread - some are just more stupid and open about it than others. Either way, every single one of them slips up eventually.

There are no fully SFW furry chats. If it’s a “minor only sfw furry chat” I’d personally be even more suspicious because there will be pedos lurking. The foundation of the furry fandom is held upon of furry porn. If it were my kid, I’d limit the sites he’s able to go on by banning some domains. Definitely ban all porn sites and especially e621.

Definitely. Maybe I should be more desensitized to it all by now, but goddamn, I always get that sinking gut feeling when I see kids pulled in or groomed.
