I remember being sent this website back in 2010 as a joke and was completely creeped out and confused. For some reason it popped back up in my head today and decided to check it out again 14 years later. Well, I’m just as creeped out as confused as I was back then.

Anybody know what the story behind Yvette’s is? Was this created to be an art project from the start? An early ARG? Was this an actual business at one point? So, so many questions.

I think the painter in the photos (fat creepy guy) is the one who made this site. It's just a hunch. It's either an art project, schizophrenia or he was really really bored.

Yvette's is an actual store. The owners have nothing to do with the website. They commissioned some autistic dude for a website and he turned it into some avant-garde monstrosity for attention.

I recall seeing the Atrocity Guide video on this, and she managed to get in touch with the creepy looking fat dude via email and describes the exchange here towards the end.

She at least claims he's rather lucid and able to communicate well, so it seems like he's probably less a schizo and more just a tard who considers themselves too avant garde (avant tard?) to not piss all over a paid commission.

Once upon a time many moons ago I was gifted a framed poster-sized high res printout of the homepage of this website, completely unprovoked. It was one of the weirdest gifts I've ever received.

I poked around pretty deep in the site a long time ago when it was still hosted (current link is an archive (and the music files don't autoplay

)) and I remember seeing some pictures of women trying on dresses that were kind of framed like they were creep shots. I have a feeling that at the very least, Sean veered into alogging the business, he's a weird one in any case. Back then I just imagined he was the owner's insane son who got tasked with making the website and then just never stopped. It's cool to finally find out some more about it, thanks for making this thread.

This shit reminds me of old myspace pages where eyestrain was everywhere. Clicked on one of the links promising dresses. While I was ogling the dingy looking pictures with no prices listed, some violin music started playing and I absolutely lost it.
