Boy am I glad that you brought him up. I'm not sure that his politics have really changed that much, I think it's mostly that he's recently developed (or is just now talking about) a severe antipathy towards much of the online right. I'm absolutely not a Trump supporter, but he's rapidly evolved into one of those people who constantly spergs about and a-logs him and his supporters while not actually doing much besides sitting around on his high horse and generally being annoying.
He's very smart but also kind of a weird dude, for a long time he was hiding his subscriber count for some reason and he inevitably ends up privating whatever videos he puts out, even if they aren't very political. The videos that brought in the vast majority of his audience are probably all gone now, for me it was his video about his experience in college. Now whenever he uploads a new big long video essay I'm always like "lol, so how long until he deletes this?"

This is all that's currently up on his channel, but his full video catalogue far exceeds this. I don't know if anyone even archived many of the lost videos tbh. A lot of those videos were genuinely good content that I have no idea why he would delete, like his (2-part?) video about the Kavanaugh hearings. As you can see, the oldest thing still currently up is a 6 hour-long series about civil society that he clearly poured a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into, but I guarantee you he's probably gonna end up completely deleting that as well. For no discernable reason, as usual. And the whole thing with privating his old videos isn't that recent of a phenomenon, it's been going on for quite a while. It just becomes very obvious as of late when you remember watching all of these different hour-plus long videos from him that are all but gone from his now very sparse catalogue.
