I'm not familiar with the terminology so if this is already being talked about I'm not aware of it. I searched for it and I wasn't able to find anything so I'm posting it now.

Even with adblock and VPNs Youtube has become unusable. I'm looking for a third party browser like Nitter but for Youtube instead. Extra bonus if it bypasses video age restrictions. I'd prefer it to be online because I don't want to have to install a bunch of shit but I'd still like to hear about offline options.

I'm curious, why is it unusable?

Just to clarify, I am never logged in, while using Brave, and I never get an ad (Brave is the ad-blocker basically). The only times I log in are for the weird cases where the video is age restricted for some reason, or I want to comment something (which I almost never do nowadays because of their shadowban bullshit).

So I agree that it is unasable if you plan on commenting, but that's hardly ever fruitful or interesting. The most attention comments get on popular streamers by the way, are pornbots that copy-paste (after slight modifications) other posts.

The desktop front ends I hear about the most are Freetube and Invidious.

Grayjay also has a desktop version, but it's nowhere nearly as polished as the OG mobile version. At least not yet as at the time of this post.
