Pretty much. I mean, the first person we see in this rewind is Will Smith, a actor, not a youtuber. It’s pretty clear by this point YouTube is no longer about individuals making videos for fun, it’s all TV/Movie/Media business now.

I find it odd they think things such as helping worthwhile causes, talking about (sponsered by better help) mental health (gimme $200) are the same as....drag queens and single moms.
Like I get it YouTube you're """woke""" but it's a little tone def to go from mental health to "yaas fierce drag queens gurl". Unless there's a hidden message there...
Anyway doesn't matter. whoever was in charge of this mess most likely is getting fired. Since all it's done is generate articles talking about all the shit they wanted to hide in the first place.

No one from Youtube is getting fired from this. This was done in an advertiser friendly way so that it wouldn't scare off potential advertisers. Youtube should have been honest and called it Youtube Rewind 2018: The Advertisers Control Y̶o̶u̶t̶u̶b̶e̶ Rewind considering the amount of tone deaf pandering and intentionally skipping over major events and deaths that happened.
