RandomDCE- he used to be known for his Handy Dandy Guides and Ear Rape Coffee series. Used to be a well known ranter. does the same thing as Hellsing920 now.

Archfiend- Another ranter. Just not as relevant as he once used to be.

YTwatchdog- a guy who wears a dog mask and exposes youtube cheaters. I'm not sure if he still makes videos but he used to be big back in 2009/2010.

BlackBusterCritic- used to be known for his reviews and Sonic Brainfart series. Hasn't posted a video in a while mainly because he has a life outside of YouTube.

Basically the ranting community is dead or at least the old ranting community is dead.

Edit: oh yeah LifeinaTent- this guy was a fucking douchebag and pissed off a lot of people on YouTube before he was finally driven off and banned, but he keeps coming back. Probably warrants a thread here if he already doesn't have one already.

Aren't Archfiend and BBC lolcows in their own right? I know their fans and detractors tend to be insane at times (I've been around them).

On top of that, BBC's one of those "PC MASTER RACE!" guys too, not even acknowledging the problems they have. Outside of the Sonic Brainfart series, guy's not much of any worth and probably could have warranted a thread if he was still relevant I feel.

I don't think they are lolcows. I know Archfiend has for the most part moved on with the whole bashing YouTube celebrities thing and BBC hasn't done anything recently. Their fans on the other hand can be obnoxious at times. But every well known YouTuber has their share of idiot fanboys. Maybe their can be a general thread on YouTube fanboys.

I dunno, BBC and the commentary community got into a little war between each other, and while he was still active, made enemies of nearly everyone on YouTube (including He11sing920, Spax3, LIAT, console fantards and even YouTube itself). And it might just be me, but he comes off as smug as Andrew Dobson.
 
BBC, aside from some funny vids/streams was awful. I never liked youtubers who thought they were so slick and smart, when in reality they're no better than the people they're attacking.

Plus his fanbase was filled with autistic kids obsessed with dumbass video games. I'm not into video games, so that's how I saw most of his fans.

Same, but were any of the people he fought against (and by extension, their fans) any better than he was?

Wanna know how I know all of this? I was there when the commentary community went belly up. Didn't know everything that happened at that time, mind you. But I eventually came to realize that neither side was in the right- BBC was acting smug (as he usually was) and the CC was being all spergy and not letting it drop.

And, as I mentioned before, dude really didn't care to look into topics deeply. For instance, in one of the videos he made during the so-called "war", he claims that thinks like kittens and pudding don't have rabid internet fanbases. Dude's clearly not been around the net too much. Same with his Console/PC videos, where he never brings up the downsides to the PC (viruses for one).
 
I wonder what happened to 'BigAl2k6' and 'LuizPrower' or whatever it was. I remember watching them religiously a long-ass time ago and wonder if Luiz is still begging for money while Al screams at a webcam?

Speaking of LuizPrower, does anybody remember cloud8745? Younger me used to watch him quite often.

It was fascinating watching him completely lose it. He started off well enough with a fairly popular let's play channel, but then he got into all sorts of shit, relationship drama (and some incredibly embarrassing blogs talking about it), and made multiple videos talking about how much he hated his fans. After that he switched channels 500 times until nobody could be bothered to follow him anymore.
 
Something which has always really bothered me about Doug Walker was brought up on one of those boards where people dished the dirt on Channel Awesome personalities. A guy who worked on Kickassia was saying that he thought everyone involved was just doing the film as a bit of fun. Then he realised Doug genuinely believed he was the next Steven Spielberg.

And that's my problem: the impression I get is that Doug never really saw NC as something he did on the side or something that was just a bit of fun - he actually thought it was high art and made him a pop culture pariah of sorts. It's the egotism of this I can't stand. You look at other successful internet critics like JonTron or the folk in that group and to my mind you can tell they're all just in it for fun. Doug on the other hand takes his shtick waaaaaay too seriously. He's got some talent and analytical skills but he's no Spielberg, never will be and his e-fame has been winding down for a while now. He should just accept that and move on.

But he won't.
 
I think Archfiend got into some hot water by showing some pedo tendencies with a underage girl in one of his chat rooms on his website.

BBC is just kind of a egotistical sperg who seems to troll shield really hard on easy targets like OPL and bronies
 
Having watched BBC's OPL special, I felt that it was a little bit a-loggy in some parts. His Sonic-fag series is gold though and will always be hilarious for me, bot other than that, I've never really gotten into his stuff.

I did watch the Archfiend for a while, and dropped off, only to have him re-emerge into some NFL fanatic. I could never get into it, as I have never understood the game or the culture behind it.

The same goes for Channel Awesome, but when I dropped off it was mostly sketchless, bar some of the specials and cross overs. Now its a poormans Saturday Night Live and is unfunny. The Snob has remained for me consistant in quality, though thanks to the revelations earlier in this thread, I've stopped watching.

How long do you think it'll be until Minecraft is a youtube washout genre?
 
BBC's blockbuster video story vids always crack me up. The vids about the sonic crazies were also funny. I like him but I don't religiously follow him or anything.

There was this special needs girl way back in late 05/early 06 named Nornna who did these redic vids from her camera phone like "Nornna walks to work" "Nornna watches Disney videos". I remember live journal was fascinated by her for like a week. Then weens started calling the subway she worked at and she shut everything down.
