Any pop music of the last 5 years. I really like Ariana Grande and not just because I want to lick her bootyhole. She has great vocal range.

This one. The lyrics sound like they were written by an eight year-old, but it still beautifully captures mid-Eighties L.A. rock culture, where every other band on the scene was ripping off the look and sound of the New York Dolls, and trying to be the next GnR or Motley Crue:

I'm a huge sucker for Bollywood love songs (or just Hindi/Urdu love songs in general). Some of it stems from childhood nostalgia because let's be honest here: what brown person didn't grow up watching Bollywood stuff at some point? I kinda fell out of the loop with most Bollywood-related stuff because there's only so much farcical melodrama I can take before it gets stupid.

Still, that doesn't change the fact that so many Bollywood songs can capture such a breadth of emotion from joy, to heartbreak, to love, and so many other things. The production's amazing most of the time, the choreography's usually pretty damn good, and the playback singers always do a fantastic job of conveying the tone. Some of my all-time favourite songs:

Glam metal, or hair metal, or cock rock, or stuff where if you light a fag near the band their barnets might catch fire, is actually really good a lot of the time. Big soaring voices! Big stompy rhythms! Oh yeah! Grunge only became popular because one of its main exponents ate his gun. FACT.

I'M A WIIILDCHILD, COME AND LOOOOVE ME!

ROCK ME ALL OVER (ROCK! ROCK!)

SHOUT, SHOUT, SHOUT

In fact, there's even bands that do this sort of thing nowadays.
