Your first exposure to Chris

I think it was right at the tail end of the Megan saga, I learned about him via a video made by a user called lilylivers. I then started watching the audiobook series and things went from there.
 
I heard about him through Linkara saying how he'll never review Sonichu and that animation of Sonichu on YouTube, but back then, I never bothered to check on anything Chris related. This was in 07' or 08', I believe. Eventually, like a year or two later, I stumbled on his ED page and a few videos and I lost interest very easier with it all (I did show my friend, and she was fascinated with him for a while). Buuut at that time, I never remembered that I saw Sonichu before that so it was nagging me that I kept getting this sense of deja vu...

What a wild ride.

It was around 2013 when I found the CWCki and have been curious about him ever since. Though, I think I only stuck around because his antics I read about did give me a ton of laughs while I was going through a horrible time in my life which thankfully, the impact has decreased since then. But I'm kind of glad I found out about Chris-Chan, well, aside from getting mental scars from some of the crap I've seen him do/go through. I still can't listen to the hour long video with BlueSpike treating Chris like a plaything. Even reading the transcript was difficult for me, ha ha.
 
I heard about Chris on Jake Fogelnest's podcast last year. I'm very disappointed I wasn't around when he was more active, but I'm hoping something good comes of the house fire.
 
A friend of mine was telling me how this one guy we knew was doomed to be the next Chris Chan. When I asked him who he was, he directed me to the ED page. Not long after I found out about and watched all of the animated series. Wanting to find out more about exactly what was up with the whole Sonichu thing, it was only a matter of time before I found the CWCki
 
I've been watching Christopher since a couple months after the first ED article came out. Like someone else said recently (forget who and which thread) I initially observed this specimen when he would upload a new video, watch it, then go on with my day. I knew there were forums discussing him but didn't feel the need to register until somewhat recently. I'd say the curiosity and intrigue of how his life goes is the main reason I still follow him.
 
Back in 2009 my friends and I were sending one another fucked up videos on facebook and one of them was the infamous JUUUUULAY. I don't remember which one of my friends sent that link, but needless to say he won that round.

Months later, I happened across the ED article on Chris Chan and realized that it was the same weirdo. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that JULAY wasn't even the strangest, most embarrassing thing Chris'tard had ever done.
 
In the wee hours of 2011, I believe. I got into Chris when I randomly found a video rant of obese vlogger He11sing920 (I think that's his name) where he ranted about Chris-Chan etc, then I suddenly found out a lot of people on the internet were talking about him; some enraged like crazy people, some amused, and others simply disturbed. So I figured out I had to see one of his videos -- and I don't remember which one was the first I saw -- and google his name.

I found the CWCki. Then I started reading it like crazy, mostly because I was bored and had nothing to do, but later because I became fascinated by Chris. I have always been the type who actually feels sorry for Chris, instead of hate him. And he made me realize my life wasn't at least as bad as I once thought it to be (I know, "self-esteem boost" shit reason, mates, but well, it was what it was). And he was, simply put, insanely funny. There's not many people in the world who could utter something like "the man in the pickle suit tricked me again". Chris' life was crazy. It was so funny, so different, and so interesting.

I've been following him ever since.
 
I first _heard_ about Chris while on ED, but since I don't take ED seriously ("expect blatant, biased lies, and expect boring truths to get deleted quickly" - ED's About page), I really didn't look into him there. Still, I was wondering, "who the hell is this guy was and why does he have the 'chan' honorific on his name?" Then, shortly after the October 2011 incident or so, I found the CWCki (I confess that I didn't ignore all Google results) and have been a "silent observer" of the CWC drama ever since.

ShecameforCWC.jpg did it for me. Until then I didn't give a shit about the ED drama. Saw the page once or twice when it was starting to gain momentum, and mostly ignored it until someone sent me that wonderful piece of art.
 
I found him on ED in 2010; he became one of the lolcows I'd read about whenever I felt like my art was especially eye-stabbingly terrible (the other being Snapesnogger). I discovered the CWCki about a year later, & even got my ex hooked on Christory. I remember when Bob's death & the final GaMe PLacE fiasco took place---just when I thought Chris couldn't get any worse.
. . .& that's how I lost control of my life.
 
I stumbled across the ED article in the summer of 2010, it was right around the time of the height of Jessi_Slaughter (you dun goof'd, consequences will never be the same ect) and I remember being curious about the ED "top 10" of sorts. My world was changed forever, soon after I found the CWCki (right around the time of the PS3 destruction videos), and later that fall when I started my current job, my way of slacking off was to read the cwcki on my phone, it's made my days at my crappy job even better "Yes, it does get sweeter"

For I while I posted a bit on the forums back in the spring of 2012, and then I got a new account here when the forum switch happened. I was lurking up until recently.
 
Hey guys, first timer here.

For me, it was smack dab in the middle of the Megan Saga when I discovered Chris. I had a couple of college friends who showed me the ED page one day while we were working on our projects. Needless to say, I've kind of followed this off and on over the years.
 
I don't even remember, but it had to be 2009-2010 when I started to get really into it. Probably through some 4chan post or something. I read the ED-page alot
 
Seems like a good thread to start off posting here.

I came in somewhat late around middle of 2010 and remember the first video I saw was actually the Surfshack Tito threat followed by his reply. At the time I knew Chris was clearly being taken on a ride but didn't quite wrap my head around why until I went back and watched earlier videos revealing just how much of Chris's life existed through his online interactions and videos. I was hooked and thought of following him almost like someone would a sitcom.

There were however times where people took things too far with Chris, especially going into 2011/2012. This was a bit disappointing as I discovered the best content tended to be those where Chris could create the videos that he wanted versus having to reply to everyone who prodded and agitated him with the intention of simply looking for a predictable angry rant. Now I did however like the more creative interventions from others with things like the Singstar contest or Alec's phonecalls. Besides being non-agressive, these were things that gave Chris a chance to surprise us and provided for far more fan content, a more cooperative CWC, and overall more information.

Favorite fan video would have to be the Lovequest spin-off of Brodyquest or Animated ep.10 finale.
 
I don't know if this speaks poorly of me or not, but one day I was on another message board and I was having a bad day and said I just felt so pathetic sometimes (you know, we all have those days), and someone said, it's okay, you're fine. And then she posted, "it could be a LOT worse: google Christian Weston Chandler". And it kind of went from there.

Heh, wow. Really, that could be really great or really shitty. Whenever you're doing shitty, you'll find evidence to support or, you'll find evidence to oppose your success. Chris is just a magnifier of the emotions you'll already be feeling.
