The paperback spines on my shelf that have taken the hardest beating are Wicked, Ender's Game, 1Q84, House of Leaves, and the ASOIAF series. I have very nice leather bound copies of The Hobbit and LotR so there's not really visible wear there. You could call these my favorites as I do keep going back to them.

In addition to being the Great American Novel, I think Thomas Pynchon’s Mason & Dixon is the great novel about America. Salman Rushdie’s The Satanic Verses is also great, but, unfortunately, the fatwa it inspired will overwhelm all talk of the book itself

IT is one of my favorite novels that I've read as well and arguably King's magnum opus, damn is it scary.

But you know what else I really, really love from King? His short story collections, those are also some of his best work.

And probably the best of that bunch is The Jaunt, goodness did that scare the shit out of me.
