It wasn't exactly my favorite 80s thing, but has anyone else here watched that 1984 Dune movie? I remember watching it as a kid and being both fascinated and confused.

How is it none of you faggots mentioned this yet?

Speaking of 80s buddy cop movies, the first time I saw the end of Die Hard, I think I came close to crying.

You forgot an American Tale.

Which part? The whole thing, just an American Tale.

Fuck that movie so hard. I was about four or five when I saw it and that movie legit gave me separation anxiety. For two weeks afterward, I'd freak out if my parents left my line of sight.

80s synths are better than 90s synths, just sayin'.
I can make a case for '70s synths, but I do love my Sequential Circuits Prophet T-8, the last of the great old analogs. MIDI (rare back then), polyphonic aftertouch (rare today), and the keyboard bit (the black and white things) was also used on the Synclavier. Look 'em up on eBay, there are usually a few for sale, and I'm probably going to list it before I move out of here.

In the analog days, you had to turn them on fifteen minutes to half an hour before trying to tune or play a synth, because the oscillators would drift (we're talking octaves) until the internal temperature stabilized.

Another fine thing I own that was made in the '80s ('89 to be precise, though it's a '90 model year):

(Pic is 2010 or so, I think. Outside in my parking spot even now.)
