You Know What Grinds My Gears? - Things that personally piss you off

People who go into restaurants and make a fucking mess on the table after they eat. Maybe the fates just hate me but I always get that table and it's the grossest shit.

The fact that all the wonderful progress we've made racially is being destroyed by race-baiters and higher-ups. It used to be about seeing people as people with unity as a theme and that everything doesn't have to be a major social issue. Now it's just walk on eggshells while having racial issues (espeically victimhood) shoved down your throat while they throw stones at you.

Any misuse of language which I feel adds needless ambiguity. The most common example I find is the erroneous substitution of homophones: principal/principle, affect/effect, etc. I fear that continued misuse may lead to a change in the definition through popular use, as it has to terms such as "slaughter" and "massacre", which used to have specific definitions but are now generally used synonymously.

This includes a very odd grammatical peeve of mine: The use of an adverb between the subject and predicate of a sentence to modify the object rather than the predicate. Example: "We only walked three miles." "Only" should modify "walked" in that sentence (as opposed to hopping, running, driving, etc.). If you want to modify "three miles", write it: "We walked only three miles."

Yes, that is stupidly picky, and I probably violate it myself. Still, it bugs me.

Fucking steak purists.

There are some people who can't stand that others like their steak cooked above medium rare. I enjoy my steak medium-well, and to them, this makes me a drooling retard. It doesn't matter where you are; if you mention your steak preference, there is always a steak purist nearby who will berate you. The worst part is, it's impossible to tell if they're just memeing or they really are up their own asses about how they like their meat cooked, because both camps act and sound exactly the same.

I once posted on my city's subplebbit asking for recommendations on where I could find a good givsteak. As soon as I mentioned that I eat mine medium-well, at least 3 steakfags came out of the woodwork and started telling me about how I was going to miss out on "the juiciness", how "real steak enthusiasts" would look down their noses at me.

For the record, I don't have a problem with people who enjoy rare/medium rare/whatever steak. It's only when they're trying to give me shit for it. Enthusiasts yay, purists nay.

I'm a fan of medium rare, but I say eat your steak the way you like it. You paid for it.

Fucking steak purists.

There are some people who can't stand that others like their steak cooked above medium rare. I enjoy my steak medium-well, and to them, this makes me a drooling exceptional individual. It doesn't matter where you are; if you mention your steak preference, there is always a steak purist nearby who will berate you. The worst part is, it's impossible to tell if they're just memeing or they really are up their own asses about how they like their meat cooked, because both camps act and sound exactly the same.

I only eat my steak raw the way God intended. All my clothes are stained with the blood of beasts I slew with my bare hands and teeth. Anyone who eats any other way is a cozy little carebear being coddled by """society""" and disconnected from their natural roots by modern conveniences.

People that cry out how they're "only pretending to be re.tarded" when they get called out for being stupid.
And on the same level, "angry" critics (i.e. Yahtzee and Doug Walker) that claim that their "reviews" (read: rants and recaps) are "parodies", clearly in an attempt to shield themselves from criticism for their stupidity.

When people smoke and don’t dump their cigarettes in the ashtray like 10 feet away from them.

People who refuse to use their turn singals, especially if they think other people should pretty much know what they're doing without it.

Looking up a recipe and having to scroll through 5 chapters telling me the history of this recipe, how it was perfected by your great grandma, the story of how your great grandma came to this country on a potato with just one beet to her name, her life story of meeting her husband, how much this dish is important to you because it reminds you of your childhood with sunny days of running in the flowery field, how much your children love it, and don't forget your youngest just took his fist steps while you made this dish.

When the recipe calls for one onion. Is it big, small, or that one giant onion from beyond Zork? Is it a yellow, white, red, sweet, or green onion? We don't know, just onion.

And it never fails, there's always that one comment at the bottom.
"So I tried making this apple pie, but I made the crust with powdered coconut to be gluten free, and because apples aren't in season I used pears. I used chia seeds and water to replace eggs because I'm vegan. It didn't turn out like the recipe said it would. I don't know why!"

Couponers.

Not people that use one or two now and then but if you have a fucking baggie or binder full of them, have the courtesy to let the other people in line know.

I've seen it from the cashier side too and fuck. Those. People.

I hate people that overfeed their pets. A cat or dog that's a bit chubby is cute, but if I see they're obese I just see red. Animals get old and they put on weight cuz they're not as spry as they used to be, and some pets are just fluffy, I get it. HOWEVER, it is your responsibility as an owner to make sure they are kept as healthy as possible, and this means whatever exercise it can do/feeding it properly (i.e., not stuffing it with people food) so it doesn't get diabetes or is incapable of walking without their legs shattering under their weight.

An animal is essentially a fuzzy child -- they depend on us for absolutely everything and doing anything that would lead to it developing poor health or unnecessary pain should be avoided at all costs.

People who can't admit they were wrong and apologize.
Certain words and phrases ; gal/ gals, creme, canoodling " you know that don't you", appropriate/ innapropriate.
Glottal Ts, as in bu' on instead of button. The way Marrissa Elene always says " okay?"It's a fucking variation of " you know that..."
Over/ incorrect use of the word triggered.
And the one that makes my blood boil the most. I have a brain inury. It has profoundly effected every aspect of my life, but most of it is not visible.
People will insist on telling me how lucky I am, it could have been worse.
Fuck you, it could have been different. There is no better or worse.
Or when people say I use it as an excuse. Next person who says that shit is going to learn what brain damage is like.
Oh yeah, and people who are shitty to cashier's.
Animal neglect and abuse.
Biting the inside of my lip while eating. It's always in the same place. Instant tard rage. It's a side effect of the brain damage. Lucky me.
