Exposing Milo was a big glownigger op courtesy of the Ewan McMullan-associated "Reagan Battalion" laundered through Washington Times-subsidiary Vox. It cost him his patronage from the Mercers, which was more or less the only thing he had going for him. Milo was probably expecting some sort of reward after Trump's improbable ascension to the Presidency, or at least some support while he was Thanos-snapped from conventional politics. While Milo may be a gay degenerate pedophile, I can't deny he has a legitimate grievance there.

I mean it doesn't take some sort of genius political operator to predict how an offer of being the VP of Kanye West would go down with Trump, or smuggling "groyper incel cum hunter" Nick Fuentes as part of Kanye's entourage to be seen with Trump and then leaking it to the press.

Did it actually affect his relationship with the Mercers? I thought both Milo and Bannon were cut off some time before then.

Milo had complained he’d done a lot of that college tour out of his own pocket rather than being financed by anyone. He was trying a fake it til you make it deal and fucked up a bit.

The Mercers wanted to be a bit like the Koch brothers or Peter Thiel types, funding worthwhile movers and shakers in politics. So they dabbled in investing in Bannon and Milo. But there was some confusion because while it was known Milo was cut off earlier, it was only after the Mercers publicly let out a statement criticizing Bannon for going after Trump that people learned that "for many months" (at that time in 2018) that Bannon had been cut off too.
"I support President Trump and the platform upon which he was elected," Mercer said. "My family and I have not communicated with Steve Bannon in many months and have provided no financial support to his political agenda, nor do we support his recent actions and statements."

You'll notice it's a bit vague as far as giving a timeline. But I think it's worth noting that even the guys like Bannon who were still being viewed positively by some on the right, actually were on the outs with the people that mattered.

So all their descents into grifterdom happened even earlier than most people realized.

The best part about all of this is that this is a job, with expectations. That sounds stupid but Nick can't handle those things. He's lazy. So for him, this is going to be torture. No more going to bed at 5am, no more showing up late to events, no more McDonalds at 3 am. He's going to have to act like a functional adult for at least 5 days of the week, he's going to have to take calls at a reasonable hour.
In 6 months, he'll be a broken man.

Uhm, you don't stop your TV show / podcast to work for someone else if you're successful. In fact, typically people do the opposite. They leave employment to start their own venture.

Let me explain this. AF is dead. Nick is at the end of the line. Every politician knows him. Every pundit knows him. Trump has met him. The only people who are willing to defend him are Beardson, Baked Alaska and Milo. Nick has lost his core supporters (Jaden, RPG, Anime Rightest, etc.). Nick has failed to win over moderates (Syndny Watson, Keemstar, etc.). His brand is so toxic that no politician can risk his support. Even politicians like Gosar, who likely agrees with most of Nick's beliefs, can't support Nick. Everyone that matters has heard about Nick and most people have rejected him and his toxic groypers. There is no more growth. It's over.

For Nick to revive his movement, he would need to go back to square 1. He'd have to start with serious policy purposes. For instance, with regards to the JQ. Nick names them but then what? Does Nick want to fire every Jewish person from their jobs? Does he want affirmative action for White people so Jews are limited to 2% representation? Or Nick talks about preserving the white majority. Well that is for all intents and purposes White Supremacy. Nick wants White people to rule his nation. So will he embrace the White Supremacist label? Nick must flush out his actual beliefs and policies. Then preach them to people and defend them like every other activist. He'd have to build up his core supporters from the ground-up. Then slowly convert the moderates to his side and finally go mainstream with a solid platform. But if Nick could do this then he would have already done it. Given Nick's low IQ and arrested development, I don't see any reason to believe that he can change his spots. It's over,
 
I think a lot of people think "if Trump can do it then anyone can" but I think it's missing how good Trump's campaign was. He capitalized on fears about immigration, America's dwindling (perceived or otherwise) economy and industrial heart and Hilary's unpopularity. I honestly don't think that Kanye or Nick have the temperament for it, Nick goes on missive rants about how much he hates the working class and the closest Kanye has got to political commentary is calling out the Jews.

It's way to premature to call anything, but I'm not really feeling it. Nick got to meet his heros so it's a win for him one way or the other.

Trump's campaign was good, but not THAT good. It benefited mainly because Hillary ran what can only charitably be called a complete clusterfuck. Also, as mentioned elsewhere, Americans love spectacle, outrage and "Pwning". The Three Nazi Stooges here have more than enough ability to provide that.
