It's a combination of Google searches, and reading the Microsoft documentations, for C#. PHP and Python was by reading other code and asking a few friends about a few questions I had.

Do you have any experience with coding in ObjectREXX or OpenCOBOL? We might write the game in those, then develop a transpiler.
VMS shell script is something else we're looking into.

Actually, we're cancelling this game and instead releasing FuckQuest, a fan sequel to Lightning Warrior Raidy II. We'll make it in RPGMaker.
