On every page of xkcd there is featured a list of recommended xkcd comics. This one (archive), "A Timeline of Earth's Average Temperature", is the most noticable. Here is an edit, showing the part that's actually relevant.

Notice that the "current path" temperature projection shows an increase of about 4.5° Celsius by 2100.
That isn't actually the current projection for global warming. That was the worst case global warming scenario from about a decade ago, RCP8.5. If current energy use trends continue, the world is headed for the "optimistic scenario" of an increase of about 2.5° Celsius by 2100.Ver archivo adjunto 9145381

It's pretty irresponsible for Randall Munroe to not show the current science.

In general it's a ridiculous comic that proves how much of an anti science cult global warming has become even a decade ago. The earth survived cataclysmic events that out scale even the worst of what humanity can do over several centuries, yet burning oil somehow outpaces super volcanoes and asteroids? And somehow in 16 years the line gets a ridiculous angle and it shifts from standard deviation to being completely linear?

It's just retarded.
