Dependable? They had a single good game that doesn't hold up despite being serviceable. They also made that game before being bought by Microsoft, so likely key people exited.
SoD3 has not been in development for 4 years, the released a trailer in 2020 and then only in April of 2026 admitted they weren't really working on the game and that trailer was not based on anything they had been working on. They're in a public alpha phase now (being handled through a fucking discord) but there's next to no chance this game is ready any time soon (unless they just make it SoD2 with minor changes) given the huge dev cycles games take these days.
SoD2 also had a fair bit of problems with regards to netplay, multiplayer, replayability, story and difficulty. It's just another studio in Microsoft's long list of "given piles of time and money with nothing to show for it" that's almost certainly going to be shown the axe - although it's fun to watch them scramble.
