What MS needs to do now is hire even more Indians, absolutely pack every single one of their development studios with them, and then double, triple and quadruple down on the woke pandering.
I'm not joking - Indians are cheap, so they can churn out slop fast, and if they make is as woke as possible the Finkbucks will keep pouring in.
Naturally, they won't sell a single copy, but does that matter when BlackRock is covering all expenses, and then some?

Yes, but it was still a decent game. It's no Doom 2016 or Eternal, but I had fun with it.
Pretty much.
None of their developers are capable of making a killer app - partially because all of them were bought up well past their prime (Obsidian is good case study) and partially because MS was too hands-off and didn't force them to do the work.
Also, the fact the goal was not to make good products but slop for the Gamepass allowed the devs to churn out low-quality trash and fill it with woke without any pushback from anyone in the corporate chain.
It's why I am sceptical about their future as a publisher. When SEGA gave up on being a hardware manufacturer, they still had a lot of talented developers on their payroll that could make successful and profitable games. MS's workforce consists of jeets, child predators and women, none of which can make a good game, nor do they particularly want to try.

It's a paradox for that one & rest of question under the main umbrail which is
TLDR: gamepass was good don't need to change to challenge gamers to netflix/redbox/blockbuster or Steam levels of renting new & used games.
Quality of games has been lacking & gamepass tasteing was good enough.

Damn, I'd maybe pick up a Series X at that price to be my dedicated Xbox/360 machine as well as a GTA VI box.
But I don't have a Sams Club membership and don't feel like driving 25 miles to check the closest one.

Guess Marty O’Donnell was right all along. Microsoft thought the IPs were what had value, but it was actually the talented people behind them that made them worth a damn.
Sure, Microsoft owns huge IPs, but they’re practically worthless because the current employees in charge of them are wildly incompetent.
Halo their old flagship game, was once made by passionate young nerds, and now it’s made by people who actively hate the fans, are more concerned with rainbow flags, and are hiding behind a name change to obscure their failure to produce a single good game in more than a decade. Yes, that includes Halo 4. Even defenders of halo 4 only liked the story but not the gameplay. Numbers don’t lie.
The people who made Blizzard great are long gone. Call of Duty is reaching levels of franchise fatigue, not to mention producing bad games. And so on. As for Bethesda? Elder Scrolls 6 would have to be a” one of the best games ever made” masterpiece for them to still be relevant.
And so on.
TL;DR: What’s the point of having big IPs if nobody behind them is making good games?
