Who cares? They already own those IPs. They're already not doing anything with them. Nothing changes this way, except the losers not doing anything with the IPs are no longer being paid to not do anything with them.

Are they? Or is it just more lies and PR spin? Because the majority of gamers play single player games. And the majority of Xbox users never had Live at any point. It seems like Microsoft is pushing this narrative for some easy social media victories for its new Xbox CEO. Most gamers likely want their console to work fully offline and be fully backwards compatible. Why would people who are playing things like Skyrim or whatever care about Xbox Live or Game Pass?

That's exactly what it is. Whenever something high up on the list lines up with their business strategy it'll be trotted out as a win for Gamers(tm) and how the customers' voice matters, and when it doesn't, they'll get silently told to fuck their own ass. Whoever thinks that Live will go free doesn't have a pair of marbles to bounce around in their head, but I'm sure that during the announcement of Xbox Whatever-the-Fuck+2 that a disk-supported SKU (for an extra $200) they'll be shouting it everywhere that Microsoft cares what you think.

Not to defend the hobo and his takes but if I'm remembering correctly he said the game was average and didn't think it was the greatest or worst thing ever. Just sorta...mid.
Which is pretty close to how I felt about it, and I was someone who was somewhat intrigued by the first trailer. An action game based on Southern Gothic folklore with blues music? Hell yes. I even thought the stop-motion presentation and art style were charming too.
Then the game came out. And it was pretty bland. Made sense why the game had settings to skip all combat and puzzles because the combat was weak by action platformer standards. I can barely remember any of the story or characters despite my best efforts because all I do remember was 'oh muh gawd ebil whites' and 'member slavery?'.
The SBI shenanigans didn't help either. Kicking out the original lead dev so they can have the Canucks make a game about the American South (his idea was to have the game be set in the Canadian wilderness and focus on Canadian folklore and cryptids like Sasquatch or the Wendigo), changing the protag from a redhaired white girl to a black self-insert for the new lead writer, and that mulatto Belair showing what a gross and disingenous person she was were just the icing on the shit cake.
Now Compulsion goes on the heap by FAFO while I'm sure those commies at SBI will persist like the virus they are.
At least the soundtrack had a few good songs on it. Really liked 'Rougarou' and 'Altamaha-Ha'

They did as was asked of them. They WERE true believers but let's not pretend they weren't asked by their parent company for woke slop.
Phil was a puppet king. She is a puppet queen. The same people who demanded she fire the woke incompetent devs are the same people that demanded that the devs are woke and incompetent in the first place.
I actually changed my mind on this matter.
There is nothing to fix since there are no games on Xbox. As in no half-decent games.
