I’m curious about what will happen in my county (almost 90% vaxed among eligible population)
Why don’t people question the fact that there is high community transmission again, despite almost the entire county being vaccinated
The county health officers put out a statement about rising cases (AGAIN) and masking when it’s appropriate
But why are so many people catching it again and again after the huge omicron wave
And the 10% of unvaccinated people can’t be blamed for all this shit
Hopefully they wise up and start questioning all the shit which is pointless. It can take time but it does happen.
I spend quite a bit of time on a sports forum and there was a pretty strong thread for covidians. There were a hundred or so regulars who were pretty much wanking each other off and a whole bunch of irregular posters.
At some point a new poster rocked up and was posting some really good common sense stuff and links to various good scientific websites/blogs/etc. What didn't go down well was these posts were all about the effects on society, mental health, finance, trade and so on that masks and lockdowns were causing and then they started posting links to credible stuff about vax effects and potential implications.
He/she NEVER actually made clear their position on masks/lockdowns, but was torn a new one every time they posted yet it was just well rounded thinking and questioning being presented very well without any attacks. You could feel the hate for someone who could do more than just post new death numbers and variant worry.
Anyway......all the covidians got their jabs, got their kids jabbed, cut anti people out of their lives etc. They then got boosters. One by one they all tested positve at various times through this shitshow, got sick from this and that, and then got covid again and cooed hard.
One guy lost eyesight in one eye just a day after a jab, someone else devloped heart issues without having had covid, and slowly the tune changed and the thread eventually died.
I wonder what some of them think if they look back at their own posts and i like to think that now those regular posters question things more. Before the thread died there was quite a change happening. Some Posters just vanished but some even had sensible conversations with the common sense poster.
A little twist , which one can take with a grain of salt, was the poster came out, towards the end, as being some tiers lower down from Boris. I dont think it was a wind up as it really didnt fit the previous posts. Even when pushed and baited there wasn't any stooping to the same level or any hot takes and name dropping.
Anyway;Hopefully you will see this kind of thing happen where you are. Guess it depends on demographics, whos in charge, etc as to how long it will take, but at some point it should change so stay strong.
