I think I bit off more than i could chew. Does anyone have any tips so i don't miss anything once I'm done with the border, like should do it by area or by color?

Worked with a frame from the memorial vid and got this out of it using a site that offered Atkinson dithering over the usual FS. The work I did to pull up colors for it gave it the perfect ghostly look fitting for him, too, took me six tries to get a bright/contrast level that would do this instead of making the image mostly grey. Zip attached for accurate colors.

Blue Marble there says 183,160 pixels to paint. Earning 1 pixel every 30 seconds, you get 2,880 pixels per day. This means this will take you 63 days to paint, and that's if you're diligent enough to use every pixel and not waste any by being full as time passes. If you don't paint white, significantly less, but even so...you might want to scale that way down. Half the dimensions cuts the pixels by 1/4th, and two weeks is a much more reasonable goal.

Not yet, I have been grinding out the monsquaz to expand my charge limit and earlier today I realized I could dither a fade on the bottom and flag edges of the memorial to have it fade in instead of being a hard cut. About 2 to 3k pixels left on monsquaz and it's done, so it'll be done soon enough with how I keep hammering it day and night.

Yes, resize it. Don't do what I did with Waifu Jareth.
That being said: if there is a solid outline or area you want to contain it in, sometimes that is nice to see blocked off. But I prefer to do it by color.

Yeah I'm not doing the white its too much so its ~30 days but yeah Im likely to resize if no one wants to help.

I think the easiest way to get help so no one has to download templates is to outline as much as you can in the color that needs to be filled in. Once I finish my final Cobes tribute, I'm more than happy to bop around and help with things.

But this just needed to be done:

The big NES kiwis are really close to done, but people keep trying to fill in shadows at the bottom now lol. It's not the end of the world if it happens, I just don't want people to waste their pixels.

If you don't have access to the template, you can see how it's supposed to look here:

The TV and NES shadows are pretty short underneath them.

All that's left is a pretty easy to repeat brick pattern in the NES screenshot!
